This is a great, very versatile mouse for a variety of applications. With selectable, on-device profiles and a robust configuration utility, this mouse can serve a variety of roles. As an example, you can create one profile where the extra buttons are mapped to the number pad keys; when you go into your MMO of choice, you can keybind the number pad to your abilities, and activate them from the mouse. With a button press, you can switch to a different profile and a totally different button configuration.
Everybody loves Point-by-Point lists:
- Big! This mouse fits into my extra-meaty hands with ease.
- Clearly designed for people who "Palm" the mouse as opposed to "claw" the mouse. If you find that you like resting your full hand on the mouse, as though your hand were riding it, this is gonna feel pretty good. If you find that only your fingertips touch, this might not be too comfortable for you.
- Buttons! Lots of buttons, all of them programmable. The mouse wheel can be set to "click" or "freewheel", which is handy. Set to click for games, 3D modeling, anything where precision matters. Set to free-wheel when browsing.
- Very accurate tracking. It has some slight issues with transparent / translucent or pitted surfaces; low carpets that have lots of crevasses are going to give it some trouble.
- **BATTERY IS REPLACEABLE** This is a big one - the battery is a standard AA rechargeable battery, and can be swapped quickly. Theoretically, you could even swap in a standard alkaline non-rechargeable battery in a pinch, just DON'T charge it!
- Very solid construction. It feels weighty, but not ponderous. Slides very quickly, and the mouse body has two textures; smooth on the buttons for quick button-hopping, and textured on the sides for a sturdy grip.
Now, some points against it, and the reason it's only 4 instead of 5 stars:
- Battery life. I would estimate about 10 hours of "on" time before it needs charging (dependant on your refresh rate, naturally). If you do a lot of MMO gaming where the mouse is used to navigate, you'll find yourself running dry after about 5 hours of play. Make sure you've got the cable handy for raid night.
- Index finger buttons: there are three buttons right next to Mouse1 (left mouse). They are great, and very handy, but only the most forward button activates quickly. The middle and rear buttons both depress _back_ into the mouse body, instead of down. That means that if you're quickly trying to press the button, it might not actually press without changing your hand position. Minor complaint, but it can affect competitive gaming.
Bottom line: It's not a Naga, and frankly I think that's a good thing. Buy this, you won't regret it.

I don't use it for gaming, but I bought it for the programmable buttons. The ergonomic design is great and I love the wheel. However, the programmable buttons do not do what they are set to do. I tried everything and they just don't work. Some buttons don't do anything no matter what I set them to, and others do the opposite. For example, I set G5 to Paste and G7 to Copy. G5 does nothing and G7 pastes. Search for "G700 buttons not working" and you'll see other people also have this problem. It's too bad because I really like the look and feel of this mouse.

Comments about Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse:
I have been a fan of Logitech peripherals for a while, and this one is no exception. It's a great mouse for gaming and for everyday. Unless you play games or love using a lot of functions tied to your mouse, one of their other wireless mice is probably more your speed. I bought it for games like Diablo and Torchlight, and I am very pleased.
The mouse is surprisingly comfortable, the numerous buttons pleasing to the feel, though it will take a little while for your fingers to get used to them. I have done some heavy gaming lately, so its batteries do run down. But, unlike my previous wireless mouse, this one is rechargeable, and it recharges *quick* (20-30 minutes). And, of course, you can use it while that's happening.
The one blemish is that I've had a few bugs with the SetPoint software. It has great functionality, the biggest benefit being able to program the various buttons with program specific functions. A few times SetPoint has failed to recognize the program I was using, though. Restarting either the program or the machine has corrected the issue.

I ordered the mouse knowing it's not supported on the Mac platform after having read a lot of reviews and work-arounds. It works great in Windows, but if you're running OSX, you need to set it up in Windows and map all the buttons before it will function as you want in OSX. That aside, it works great! Also, being wireless, I usually just charge it overnight and the battery will last throughout the day.

Comments about Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse:
I use this mouse for gaming mainly, it is very easy to use and does everything it says it does! I love it, The buttons on it macro to almost any key on your keyboard. The mouse I had before this was also a Logitech that was very similar to this one, it had less buttons but it still worked great. That mouse has finally died, I had it for 4 years and it had no problems up untill just recently when it died. Because of that mouse I have returned to Logitech because I have been very pleased with the products I have recieved!
The buttons on it might take some time to adjust to but since I had a mouse with a similar layout I have adjusted to it perfectly fine.
Only thing I cannot speak on is the battery, I have not used it on battery and dont care to, the cord works perfectly fine for me and I personally dont like to rely on battery, especially when I am in the middle of Player vs Player combat!
There is nothing that I do not like about the mouse so far!

I use this product for common tasks but the main reason I bought it was for gaming. I play RPGs and FPS and this mouse is the best I've had.
Has great precision, great comfort, many programmable buttons including DPI toggle, lateral scroll, etc. It is wireless but can go wired when you need to and can still be used while charging. Furthermore, the battery is integrated and comes with the mouse.
The only thing I didn't like is the "dongle" because it is not "unifying" but I like how descrete it is and its range!

I left this review on [...] originally because I could not remember where I bought it. [...]This is a fantastic mouse, probably the best on the market. That said it does have its issues.1. Extra buttons are soft to click. For a company that made the fantastic MX1000, it is hard to fathom why the extra buttons feel so mushy and not clickety. In many cases it is hard to tell if the click registered.2. The software is beyond sub-par. I had three mice sitting on my desk : MX1000 (turned on but cradle was not hooked up to PC), Fierce gaming mouse (plugged in) and G700 (plugged in). However the G700 refused to work properly in this setup. For instance, I could not set custom button assignments until I turned off MX1000. And side scrolling did not work until I uninstalled Fierce drivers.2a. The configuration software is set in this really tiny font. You end up almost hunting for the setting you want to change blindly since you cannot see the words clearly even with some serious squinting (yes I wear glasses, recently made, my eyes are pretty healthy and the glasses are very mild). There is no way to change the font. My eyes hurt after the config was over.3. The scroll wheel is set in too far from mouse edge. It is comfortable for scrolling but I have to retract my index finger to do side scrolling. This is rather annoying (surprisingly annoying considering it is a small issue). It was even worse on MX1000 but that mouse had two buttons around the wheel (see point 4). Thus your index finger could rest on the front button and using the wheel from that starting position was comfortable. Not anymore.4. The two wonderful buttons that hugged the scroll wheel on MX1000 are gone.5. The battery life on Logitech mice seems to be going in the wrong direction.6. The mouse is pretty heavy (which I like but others might not). There is no way to customize the weight. No sliding cartridge slots on this mouse.

Comments about Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse:
Thus far the G700 has been fantastic to have. I still have my G7 for the desktop and needed something similar for my laptop. The G700 does not disappoint. I can leave the nano receiver in the machine all of the time and just whip out the mouse when I decide I need a little more control as opposed to using the touchpad. I haven't used the cable yet as the batteries are still good to go, but I'm happy about the ability to use the mouse with the cable at the same time it charges. Best of both worlds, wired and wireless. The buttons are easily accessible, especially the thumb buttons and they are made distinct so it's easy to differentiate between them just by touch. I highly recommend this mouse for just about anyone.

Comments about Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse:
I was looking for the precision of a wired mouse with the flexibility of a wireless mouse. The G700 allows for both by allowing the user to go wired or wireless.
The only complaint I would have is that the wireless battery runs out relatively quickly (needs a charge every 2 days or so), but it's a small price to pay.

Comments about Logitech G700 Wireless Gaming Mouse:
I prefer mice that perform well in Photoshop and Gaming. This mouse meets both requirements superbly! I have large hands and it fits perfectly. I use a Func mousepad and the combo is silky smooth. I've used the Logitech G9x, g500 and older Logitech Mice and this one is just as good as the others.
I don't like the wireless performance because of the lag, but it is the best performing wireless mouse I've ever used. Wireless mice have too much lag, imo. Without the option to use the wired usb cable (disabling wireless), I would not have purchased this mouse.
The plethora of buttons are positioned perfectly, as they won't find your thumb and fingers maneuvering around them.
