When daylight dims and the shadows deepen, the HD (High-Density) extra-low dispersion glass of the Talon HD 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular from Vortex goes to work for you. Rivaling higher-priced European binoculars, the HD glass, XR coatings, ArmorTek protection and phase-corrected prisms deliver extra-high resolution and increased light transmittance - rendering brighter views than one would expect from binoculars in this class.

Vortex knows there will be times when it's just plain hard to keep a handle on things ... that's why the Vipers feature rubber armor, sealed O-rings and Argon gas purging provide for years of exceptional viewing. Let it rain. Let it snow. Let the wind blow up a dust storm. Nothing gets past the Viper. These binoculars are made to be dust proof, fog proof, and waterproof. Tripod adaptable with a large center focus wheel.

Comments about Vortex Talon HD 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular:

Just got the Talon binos to replace my original (2005) Bushnell Legends. The Talon has a sharper image in the "sweet spot", but blur more noticeably at the edges of the FOV. The low light image is about the same, maybe a hair less. These are ruggedly built though and have a smooth focus wheel. However, I did have to spend more time fine adjusting the focus when viewing multi-distance images. I hunt high country mule deer and found I did spend more time working the focus wheel than I've grown accustomed to over the years. Not bad, but I'd consider another similarly priced bino if I was going to make the purchase again....

Comments about Vortex Talon HD 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular:

Pleasantly surprised at quality and how clear and crisp images are. Low light, no problem. These are the best binos I have ever bought. If you don't want to spend two grand for quality binos, here is a good choice.

Comments about Vortex Talon HD 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular:

Outstanding clarity and field of vision, especially for roof prism. Very well built and tough as nails. Not quite as bright and sharp as my other high end porro binoculars but the difference is small and the compact roof prism design renders far more usable and convenient in the field. Absolutely can't go wrong for sub $. Any significant improvement would require min twice the $$
