The Viewsonic VRM1536-11 Digital Picture Frame is a 15" frame that not only displays your digital photos, but plays music and videos too. The frame does justice to your images with a 1024 x 768 resolution and a 12 x 9 viewing area. JPEG photos, M-JPEG and MPEG-1 and 4 videos, and MP3 audio files can be stored to the 265MB internal memory or to a variety of memory cards. In addition, files can be transferred to the VRM1536-11 via the USB connection. And when changes need to be made, it's quick and easy to do so with the included remote control. The VRM1536-11 also acts as a clock, an alarm, and even a calendar.

picture durations for Slideshows, Transitions, Auto-rotation etc.
I don't use the video function, I watch them on more convenient media (like a widescreen or my mobile) and am not interested in music with my pictures so the speaker quality doesn't come into my assessment.
But I challenge anyone to find as big a screen as this with such a good resolution or the all important viewing angle, for anything near the price.
The only reason I haven't given this 5 stars is because a lot of the over all size is taken up by a stylish, but useless matt. I would've preferred a simple black frame so that all you see is the photo.

I chose this Viewsonic product over others because I live outside the US and wanted to avoid trouble by buying from a company I believed to be reliable and respectable. Well, turned to be a wrong decision. The digital frame did not work right out of the box - videos could not be played at all and there were also some quirks with pictures. I contacted Viewsonic's support by mail and then followed a long saga of emails in which they tried to solve the video problem. These attempts miserably failed - even their own video file they sent me to run could not play. Viessonic then gave up and admitted the product is faulty and should be replaced. I gave it a last try and prepared multiple versions of a video file using many different codecs and resolutions and finally got one of them to run. I was happy for about two minutes but then found out that now no matter what file I try to run the frame always plays that single file ! (and before you ask - I did try to disconnect power but it did not help and the bug is non-volatile.). You must admit Viewsonic is at least creative with their bugs...I had expected Viewsonic to feel quite guilty that their product failed so miserably right out of the box and to behave accordingly. Well, I was wrong. Viesonic's position is that as the product was bought in the US they will only make the exchange for a new product in the US. This is so even though they have a repair company working for them that is close to my home. For me having to bring the frame to the US and take the replacement back is an impossible solution - the box of this large digital frame is larger than the suitcase I usually travel with ...Bottom line - stay away from this product and stay away from this company (viewsonic)

I'm very happy with this picture frame. It is very large and I should have paid more attention to that. Doubt I will ever hang this on the wall. Looks to large for that. The picture is very clear, offers lots of options as to showing pictures, auto on and off, multiple ways to put pictures on or read them, does video and sound and finally it comes with a very nice and simple remote.

I was very disappointed that the frame will not accommodate a Compact Flash memory card. Smaller, cheaper frames I own do accommodate that size. It is a quite common size used for many DSLRs. Otherwise, the frame is beautiful!

My second 11 inch picture frame, first from viewsonic. First one, a no name brand died after about 1 year and was limited to 1000 photos on a memory card. This one has no photo limit and has a great timer to turn it on and off at a time of your choosing. Hopefully that will extend its life. Color and brightness are great and the whole family will stop and comment on some great old photos. Definitely worth the bucks, as for how long it will last, will we will see.
