I like the idea of the cinch strap - it keeps me from gluing velcro permanently to my flash unit. the one thing that I think would make this 5-stars in my review is if the cinch strap were elastic. This would allow one to stretch it when putting it on and it should then grip the flash unit better.
I have to be careful that the softbox does not fall of the flash unit.

Good concept, however doesn't afix to flash securely. I'm not sure elastic being incorporated would be the answer either. It still will be in my gear bag for certain instances.

This inexpensive cinch strap is great because it allows you to mount flash modifiers on your strobe without putting nasty adhesive all over the flash head. Good for a variety of accessories.

Comments about Vello Cinch Strap for Portable Flashes:
I found that this slipped too easily and prefer to put velcro directly on the flash, so my attachments don't get knocked loose in the middle of a shoot. I suppose it might work for someone who isn't moving the camera around, perhaps on a tripod.

I use this with my portable softbox and it works great. Its simple and durable with the only downside being your flash may not fit in its pouch while the strap in on.
