The black Lens Case 9 x 9cm from Lowepro is named for the dimensions of lenses it fits. For example, this lens case fits a lens up to 3.5" (9cm) in diameter by 3.5" (9cm) in height.

Good case for $, double zipper, somewhat water repelent (beware, not water resistant!), inside padding for protection. Downside is the velcro strap: It only allows to be strapped in a vertical direction, would have been nice to have allowed horizontal strapping as well to adapt to more camera bags.

I've had two of these and I just got two more. I love them. I stopped using the padding in my Pelican 1510 b/c every single job requires different customization...but realized I wasn't protecting my lenses well enough. So putting each one of my Nikkors in one of these is the solution. A lot of times, I keep them around the strap on an AC pouch instead of in the case, allowing me to ditch the bulky Pelican 1510 and still have the lenses close to me and more readily available. I messed up and ordered two, forgetting that it's the right size for a tele-extender I have as well, and will soon buy another one (my 5th).

Very happy with this little case, holds my 35mm prime quite well, even a little extra space so its not too tight, just right. The padding is nice, it's lightweight and allows me to carry my lens in my purse or other bag that is not otherwise padded. Great price too.

I usually keep my lenses in a larger camera bag with my camera. But sometimes that bag is just too much to carry around with me everywhere. I really like these individual lens cases because they allow me to grab only what I need for the occasion (say a day hike) and put it into my day pack. The lens is still protected and I don't have to lug a huge bag everywhere!

The 9x9 is just like every other Lowepro lens case (though I am *not* happy about the way they've re-done the range and dropped certain products). It's well made, nicely padded (except see below) and if other experiences I've had with Lowepro cases are any indication the flap design should keep the water out for a little while if you get caught in a *light* shower (not soaking wet).
My only real beef with this particular case is that it's missing the extra, removable pad that you (apparently randomly) get inserted under the mesh "lens cap holder" in the top flap with some cases. This is a real pain because if you keep your lenses in these things at home or in transit for cleanliness/protection as I do there is virtually zero padding on the top surface - just a couple layets of nylon. So I guess unless you are lucky enough to get one with the extra pad, store your lens face-down so the rear cap will take the brunt of any impact. Otherwise it would be a solid 5-stars.

I use this case to carry and store ny Pentax D FA 100mm Macro WR or DA 18-135 lense. It fits both of these pretty well. I like to hike light when I can and carry a lens or two on my belt. I can also store a lens in the case, and transport lens cases inside of another non-camera bag. These do a nice job and protect the lens well. The "loop" for the belt is very secure, there is no danger of it coming loose. You could strap these to about anything, but I use a sturdy leather belt that I just keep with them.
