The B+W 77mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 3 stop exposure. This 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter:
I have many B+W filters and use them regularly. Have never tried another brand, so I can't say they are better or worst. I find that usually you get what you pay for. These are expensive and I have had no issues with unwanted color issues or light flare. They are solid and seem well made. I'm brand loyal and will always own B+W.

Yes the glass is nice. The coating is nice. But what I love the most is the brass threads that make it easy to put on and off. Hard to imagine buying a filter without brass.

This filter is strong, durable and offers great clarity. With the need for filters not being what it once was a ND filter will always have a purpose and B+W makes some of the best.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter:
I generally don't use filters except to produce a look that I can't otherwise get. When I do need a filter to get a desired look I turn to B&W for their high quality optics. Highly recommended.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter:
I use with manual flash and 2.8 lens in bright sunlight conditions. Works as advertised. Threads are great, allowing it to attach to my lense without binding. I did notice a slight warm cast to the image.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter:
You don't need a new camera to take your photography to the next level. All you need are ND filters from B+W. I've been using my "77mm #103 Solid Neutral Density (ND) 0.9 MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) Filter by B+W" combined with my ND 3.0 MRC filter for a total 13 f stops. The results are a totally surreal look to my photos that would not ever be possible. The performance is above and beyond anything else I've ever tried. Other filters tend to lose their clarity when stacking, but not these ones. All my photos are super crisp.

Quality product. Has a good feel to it, no loose glass, threads on easy. After use on waterfalls in the Smokey Mountains it performed well and seems to leave no color cast.

Comments about B+W 77mm 0.9 ND MRC 103M Filter:
This is a very sturdy, well built, high quality 3 f-stop ND filter. The filter mount is made out of brass and never sticks to filter mounts. The glass is multicoated, and while it is a bit more tricky to clean it affords excellent clarity and flare resistance. The filter is well calibrated, meaning that you can predictably get correct exposures by metering without the filter, adding 3 EV of exposure and screw the filter in place. The filter gives a very slight yellow cast that can be either pleasing or removed in post.
