Product Highlights
  • 3.0 Neutral Density Filter
  • Increase Exposure Length
  • Rugged Black Brass Filter Ring
  • High Quality Schott Glass

The B+W 67mm 3.0 ND 110 Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 10 stop exposure. This 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image* and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

*Note: Due to the amount of additional exposure required to compensate for the density of this filter, some color shifts may occur. Individual testing is recommended before use.

3.0 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 10 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

I wanted to use this filter to shoot long exposure, such as daytime waterfalls, streets without people, midday cloud blur is landscapes, and it does all those things. My concerns come from image quality. I expected a reduction is sharpness, but that doesn't mean I'm happy with it. It is still in the tolerable range however, when combined with good photographic technique and sharp lenses. Vingetting is noticeable, be prepared to remove it in photoshop from some photographs. The major concern for me is flare. Anytime I am outside, even on very cloudy days, there is flare. Unless it is very cloudy out, it is a NASTY amount of flare in the form of a light purple blob on the left side of the frame. The only way to avoid it is to zoom in since the flar is off to the side, but you have to zoom in a lot. I am very dissatisfied with this aspect of the filter. For this price, this should not be the huge issue that it is.

It will stop down the light obviously, does not give too much color shift during long exposures. My other choice was HOYA HMC 9stop but decided to go for one extra stop instead.

I use this filter for landscape photography and time lapse. The threads are well designed to not cross thread onto your lens.

I use this filter for long daytime exposures. It does a great job allowing 2-3 min exposures in daylight. I traded in a variable filter for this product and it has proven to be a much more effective product.
