  • 3.0 Neutral Density Filter
  • Increase Exposure Length
  • MRC Multi-Resistant Coating
  • Rugged Black Brass Filter Ring
  • High Quality Schott Glass

The B+W 67mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 10 stop exposure. This 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the overall coloration of the image.

The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters.

B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

        So far so good.

        Comments about B+W 67mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:

I've only gotten to try this filter a couple of times, but so far it has worked as advertised. Came with a decent case and really my only complaint is there was a very small scratch on the glass. This in no way has affected quality but I am rather picky about my gear. With all that said though don't let that minor occurrence hold you back.

          Comments about B+W 67mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:

It is a great filter. I bought it in order to do long exposure shots. I waited a while to review it until I tried it out a few times. A bit tricky to use, but the results are good. By tricky I mean you have to set up your shot without the filter, switch to manual focus/control, then put on filter and hood, shoot. If you do everything right the results are amazing (smooth beautiful water, creative blur effects in clouds or people). 10 stops means multiply exposure by 1000 from prep (e.g. 1/50 exposure converts to 20 seconds). 10 stops is great for full sunlight (10 stops is almost not enough for some effects) and too strong for dark conditions. I plan on getting a 6 stop ND filter for those occasions. Build quality is good, optics are great, up to B+W expectations.

            Comments about B+W 67mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:

Great quality as always from B+W. There is a slight color cast, as with all NDs this dark but it's easily fix in post. Otherwise this filter gives you 10-stops more of exposure and not much else :)

                Comments about B+W 67mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:

I have been wanting a ten stop ND Filter and had been on a waiting list for the Lee Big Stopper. Upon reviewing the manufacturer and specs I decided I couldn't co wrong with B+W filters since they're part of Schneider Optics, one of the best German optical firms with a long reputation of high quality.

Upon receiving the filter I put it to work with some extremely long daylight exposures of approximately 30 seconds each.

The filter performs as advertised and the color is neutral with no color shifts.

I would not hesitate in recommending this filter to any user. It is of high quality and worth the investment.

                    Comments about B+W 67mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:

I did allot of research on NDs and found this to be the best reviewed for the purpose of long exposure during daylight. You definitely have to focus/compose etc. before you put it on your camera which is on a tripod. A remote is best too for best results, but with a 30 sec exposure, I got very cool sky/cloud movement. I am very pleased with the solid construction and threads to take on and off. I recommend this filter for architectural shots, landscapes and waterscape shots. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jneo/6196191341/in/photostream

                      Comments about B+W 67mm 3.0 ND MRC 110M Filter:

I use it to create long exposure of moving water and grass shot in daylight or evening.
This filter have a top quality built, and the multi-coated treatment on the glass make it very easy to remove slight dust with a air pump or remove accidental fingerprint with a microfiber cloth, its very well made and sturdy with a kind of black oxide finish on the brass ring.
The only reason that make it loose a star is that its not perfectly neutral. it has a kind of a blue purpelish tint in it, but its easily correctable in a raw file. But its very common on these kind of extremely dark filter...
