Canon's Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera (Gray) packs a whole galaxy of features into its compact (3.67 x 2.20 x 0.78"/9.3 x 5.5 x 1.9 cm) and lightweight (4.27 oz/121 g) body--a 12.1MP CMOS high resolution sensor, 4x wide-angle 28-112mm lens (equivalent in 35mm format), and full 1920 x 1080 HD video with stereo sound, for starters.
It's also got the advanced HS system delivering clear, sharp photos with detail and nuance in low light, with high or low ISO images. Optical image stabilization keeps away the shaky pictures and video, and Smart AUTO recognizes and sets optimal exposure, shutter and focus settings for 32 predefined shooting situations. The Super Slow Motion Movie mode records video at 240fps for a very slow motion playback, and the High-Speed Burst mode allows you to shoot still photos at up to 8.2fps.
A large range of creative effects is available, including fisheye effect, miniature effect (stills and video), toy camera effect that creates a vignette similar to pinhole cameras, monochrome, super vivid, color accent, color swap (pick one color in a photo and replace that color with another of your choice), long shutter to blur moving objects for artistic effect, and many more. This ELPH is ready to serve.

It's BLUE and looks NICE only in THIS COLOR. Start up is fast. Pictures come out NICE & SHARP. Low-light pictures are AWSOME. I took a picture near my bedroom sink where it is really really dark and guess what, it made it look like day. The only reason I brought this camera was for the LOW-LIGHT, where I can take pictures out at night specially when im going to miami beach where there are neon lights and pretty colorfull buildings. I agree buttons in this, is a bit smaller. when I press I dont know where I am pressing sometime, but it will take a while to get use to it. Price wise... [$] is a good price better then paying 200 dollers and more specially in [...], they are expensive!! but I searched and waited and read reviews I decided this is the one!! I would buy this camera again or the NEW canon powershot elph500 for low-light. One other thing. when taking videos it does not zoom. I don't care cause I already own a jvc camcorder. [...]

As a filmmaker / videographer, I found this camera's specs to be inticing... shooting full 1080p HD video at 24 fps and around 34mbps, for only [$] ! Although the video images are stunning, it lacks any type of manual controls (shutter speed or exposure lock would have been great... especially knowing that Canon did have exposure lock on similar digicams... Too bad for this, the camera captures both great video and stills...

Comments about Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera (Blue):
I just switched to wide screen format and use both the still and video features to create good quality DVD's for viewing on the TV. 12 MP is plenty for my amateur shows and I don't mind transferring photos to my computer via wire in lieu of bluetooth, both of which save about $200 compared to high end ELPHs. I'm still getting used to the small size, but haven't hit a wrong button, yet. Excellent optical zoom, too.

I purchaesd this camera for it' s versatility and abundance of features. I wanted a small versatile camera for traveling, as I was worried about my old favorite camera being bigger than I want and not having good low-light capabilities. The Elph has replaced my old favorote now. It performed as promised right out of the box. This camera really is a wonder. It is so small you can tuck it in your shirt pocket. The video and still pictures are of high quaity. My new favorite!

The camera is tiny, attractive, well designed and well built. It has just enough features for a budget minded amateur photographer. Photo/video quality is excellent for the price. I cannot think of a single negative associated with this camera. B&H service, price and delivery time are excellent. This makes my third purchase from B&H and I am forever hooked.

I started shopping for an "expensive" camera but the more I studied them the more I realized I would never use the dozens of features each had. It makes no difference how "good" a camera is, if it's not convenient to you use you don't take pictures. This little camera fits in your pocket and fires-up really qiuckly. Ready at a moments notice to take pics. It also has good battery life. I charged it only once in 11 days of traveling and picture taking.

This is the 4th one of these I've purchased. I have my original personal ELPH from a bunch of years ago and have bought 3 other since then for various work projects.
Durable, takes a beating, light, easy to use... this latest version is a bit larger than the previous version but has a much improved larger LCD display.
Without reading a manual or wasting time you can take it out of the box and take picutres in under a minute.

Comments about Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera (Gray):
The camera's small slim design makes it extremely portable. It's very easy to operate either in the auto mode or in one of its many special photo modes. But what distinguishes it from others is the quality of the photos it takes, especially in low light.
True, its buttons and controls are small for one with big hands and fingers. It doesn't have a lot of zoom, but enough for most photos. The flash is somewhat limited, but low light pictures are so good you seldom need it. Don't be put off by these minor complaints. You'll love this little camera.
