As with all Glidetrack camera sliders, the Hybrid offers a sturdy and affordable alternative to more cumbersome dolly tracks, giving you the power to create smooth, Hollywood-style tracking shots. But this slider brings improved levels of smoothness to your camera movements by combining both traditional Drylin self-lubricating bearings with individual roller bearings. Unlike typical roller-bearing systems--which use dirt-attracting grease and noisy metal bearings--the Hybrid's specially designed rollers utilize an open architecture that's self-lubricating, dry-running, and can be easily swapped out or disassembled for cleaning. Cleaning is also easy: simply hold the parts under tap water or a quick blast of air--no tools required.
The unit's newly designed rubber feet are not only adjustable, but allow for shooting on inclines, uneven ground, and even upside down. Whether attached to a tripod (via the 1/4" or 3/8" mounting threads) or resting on a tabletop, the Hybrid makes the most of its simple, industrial-grade design to deliver smooth-as-glass motion. Its wide rails and heavy-grade construction make it ideal for medium-to-large DSLR/camcorder rigs using rod support systems, bringing a high-end look to productions large and small.

This product is tremendous and is probably the best tool in my kit for instantly bringing high-production value to a video piece. The customer service with the company is tremendous as well (they immediately helped me replace one of the feet that I lost).

Fast, easy solution for achieving smooth dolly moves. There is a small amount of play between the glide head and track which can cause a bump in the dolly move if you are also performing a tilt with the fluid head. I am able to work around this now that I know it exist.

I have bought a glidetrack NON-hybrid in the past and returned it because it did not slide well at all. This slider works really well. You have to push/pull with your own arms but it is smooth and can take some weight on top. I have run a cam with 70-200 f/2.8 lens with no issues and also shorter rigs set up on a Red Rock system with no issues either. I like it a lot.

3.5 rating. This is a good, affordable slider. It works fine with the 501 Manfrotto head I bought for it. It seems to be pretty solid, and made from hearty materials. Some slight negatives: The sliding carriage seems to "float" and rattle a bit on is 4 points of contact with the slide rail. I've also experienced some "click clack" bumps when sliding with the unit right out of the box. Adding the camera's weight seems to have eliminated this.

Comments about Glidetrack Hybrid - 40" (1m):
I was super hopeful about the Glidetrack Hybrid, but am a bit concerned with the product right now. It has an awkward stutter along the length of the track, not at all the silky smooth travel as advertised in the promotional videos. This thing should be perfect upon arrival. I may need to clean it out, and if it is still juddery, I will need to return it. You don;t spend so much money on a track to have be jerky along the travel.
Another thing to note is that this things is heavy--be warned if you are thinking of running and gunning at a wedding, this is a serious piece of gear once you get your tripod head on it.
