Comments about Matrox DualHead2Go DP Edition:
I've had this product for a year now... it's worked maybe 4 or 5 times. It took a combination of switching it on while reseting monitors again and again to make it work the few times it did. Spent and hour on the phone to support, sent it back to HongKong for repairs, paid tax again to get it back it worked briefly, again with about 1hour of reseting and replugging it in. These days, with the latest drivers, it's detection software just states the box is not connected. Matrox blames Apple for changes in thunderbolt's monitor detection which is rediculous since they state it's supported on Apple computers. Junk.

Comments about Matrox DualHead2Go DP Edition:
I used the DualHead2Go digital edition for 2 years and then recently purchased the DP edition. I bought both from B&H as it was half the price quoted by my local asian distributer in Singapore. The digital edition wasn't really digital, with a VGA connector, and slightly blurry result on 2 x 24" acer monitors I bought for it. It was a little touch and go with detecting the monitors despite this my productivity skyrocketed. When moving to a 2011 macbook 17" I was upset to learn my old one wouldn't work and bought this model. When I bought this new one It worked for 2 months, died, fiddled with it for a month, sent it back to Hong Kong for servicing, arrived back after a month. It works temperamentally, and requires a combination of switching on the monitors, plugging in the USB to make it detect while crossing fingers, chanting prayers and standing on one leg. This may have something to do with Acer P241w monitors, if they don't get a wake signal they seem to go into a standby mode and detect better in the 5 secs after they switch on.
All said... if you have the money and a Thunderbolt mac, by the mac monitors or just one extra larger resolution monitor.
Wish it worked flawlessly, it's awesome to work on 3 monitors.

Comments about Matrox DualHead2Go DP Edition:
I use my 15" MBP screen in addition to the DualHead2Go DP Edition running 2 x 24" monitors at 3840x1200 resolution. I have enough screen space to have 3 FULL sized applications running at once and easily move between them. I am thrilled with this product and have recommended it to several friends!

Comments about Matrox DualHead2Go DP Edition:
I bought two of these things, one for home and one for work. I have a brand new Macbook pro 15" running Lion. I spend at least 30 minutes a day wrestling with it to work, and am constantly on the phone with matrox tech support, which is in Canada, has no toll free number, and is open 9 to 5 their time. If I close the laptop, and follow their instructions, it may or may not bring up the external monitors, and it is very random. I end up opening the lid, changing display settings per matrox instructions, then closing it and crossing my fingers. Usually it takes me at least 3-4 such tries just to bring up the external displays, and sometimes it doesn't work at all and I have to leave my lid open. Matrox tries to blame Apple for mishandling resolution changes and sleep behavior, but this box is meant to do just one thing and one thing alone- take a dp output from a Mac and drive two external monitors. If they could not work it out and test it successfully on an Apple then it was not ready to ship in the first place, and we customers should not be their guinea pigs and beta testers. If you are planning to use your laptop in clamshell (lid closed) mode you will be very disappointed and will waste a lot of time. As far as I am concerned, both the product and the support are a complete failure and I would give them 0 stars if I could.

Comments about Matrox DualHead2Go DP Edition:
I use this product mainly for both video editing and graphic design. I found the device easy to set up and to install. I had previously reviewed other devices such as this (from other companies), and found that the products were "laggy" and slow. The DUALHEAD2GO was obviously the best choice. I honestly see near no flaws in this product (maybe to have SINGLE mini data port rather than one with a connector). Worth your money. Great buy. Excellent display. Smashing Graphics.

Installed quickly, works like a champ. So much better than the USB display adapter I was using before!
