The CompuDay Photo 250 Backpack from Lowepro is a real "out-the-door" pack. Not like your traditional backpack, this unique approach to carrying around gear takes into consideration the user who needs a good-sized bag for a wide variety of purposes but doesn't want the weight of something you'd climb Everest with.
The pack is large enough to hold a 15.6" laptop and still has room for a camera, and all kinds of personal stuff like cell phone, portable hard drive, snacks, jacket and that MP3 player with your favorite songs on it. There are multiple pockets for all sorts of things like keys and wallets and your plane tickets. There's even a removable accessories pouch for the stuff you might want to carry with you once you arrive at a gig or other destination. On the front, there's a zippered pocket for numerous small items like your phone, papers and that MP3 player.
For shooters, there's a neat little side pocket that gives fast access to the camera with a simple flick of a zipper. No need to worry about padding as the bag is made out of rugged ballistic nylon. In addition, plenty of support for your gear on the inside. Comfortable, adjustable shoulder straps as well as a quick-grab handle are available for transport. However, if you're traveling with additional luggage, Lowepro has even included a mesh trolley sleeve that will hold your bag safely and securely while you navigate through crowded parking lots or airports. At a more than reasonable price for a bag this complete that is backed by a lifetime warranty, Lowepro has produced a real winner.

This bag is great. I just recently was gifted a Nikon SLR but realized I was not using it because I did not have the right bag to fit my lifestyle. I travel a fair bit, and like to keep a daypack that is stocked with what I might need through out the day....journal, notebook, book, pens, pencils, keys, and a small camera. My old backpack had outgrown my camera. This bag was the perfect upgrade.
I think the bag is great, because it fits what you need and nothing more. I am a bit of a minimalist, and usually when I am out and about it is for most of the day. No fun to carry a heavy backpack. Besides the size, I really like that it is a plain, unassuming bag. I felt it was really secure. My options I was looking at were the the Lowepro Flipside and the CompuDay, and I decided that the super hidden entrance to the Flipside would actually be kind of a pain while traveling. I don't need to take the CompuDay off to get access to the camera. I have since been traveling in Mexico, and have felt super safe with the pack, even in the Metro in Mexico City! Also love the top carry handle that makes it easy to get in and out of overhead luggage areas on flights or buses.
One other big plus was the water bottle holder. It is deep and big, so I imagine holds a range of sizes of bottles.
I am just starting with photography, so drawbacks I can see about this pack would be the size. With the camera in the side pocket, it is a bit tight. It is collapsible, but I have not used it that way yet. If you have lots of extras it simple won't fit. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the bag does not stand alone, so it needs to be leaned against something. It does NOT have an area to attach a tri-pod, but as I am a beginner, this is not an essential on outings yet. I did see a video review of the bag where a guy had used a bungee to strap one on and it worked fine.
All in all, love this bag, and you cannot beat the price. Thanks LowePro!

I like this bag a lot and was using it to replace an old Lowepro bag I had... its great because there is room for a computer but i believe that takes away from the good sense of compartmentalization that other lowepro bags give. There is this great side pocked that allows for easy access to your camera body but i am concerned about my lenses safety in this bag because there are not a lot of small sections, rather just one large compartment coupled with a couple other large compartments.
All in all an ok bag.

I use it to keep everything together. When full it is pretty heavy to carry around all day, but it holds several lens and assorted other things besides the camera with a zoom lens mounted.I especially like the side compartment where the camera goes. you can swing it around which puts the zipper up and extract the camera easily.

I use this bag almost every day to go to work. It fits my Mac Air nicely and also my D800 w/24-120mm and also my OMD when I want to carry them both. It also fits all the other odds and ends I need for work. It also doesn't look like a camera bag which is great when you shoot in urban areas.
Great bag, it may be going overseas this year also.

Fits my 15.6" Dell laptop, lots of room in the side DSLR pocket, rather light, quality looks very good, lots of useful small pockets inside.
Also comfortable.

I use it as a school bag, and carry a NEX 7 camera in the side pocket. When needed, it becomes a full fledged camera backpack, with a few lenses, batteries ,flash and what not.
The great thing about this bag is that I can get to the camera really quickly when I see something worth shooting.
However, I'm quite small sized and find the shoulders of the bad a tad to wide. The zippers are too small, and sometimes get caught up in the fabric.

I recently purhcased the CompuDay Photo 250 Backpack as a gift. The person I was gifting this to had picked out the backpack and was extremely pleased when they received it. It was exactly what they were expecting and met all of their needs. I was very happy with the ordering process and the quick shipping. I would definitley recoment this backpack and using B&H to anyone! Overall great experience!!!

Great everyday or travel bag. Simple, classy, and it has a lot of organized pockets to put everything I need. Use it for road trips, airplanes, going into office and going on a hike, and it doesn't give off that big, bulky look that other camera bags have. And I can put my laptop in it! Win win situation!

I actually have yet to use this, but plan on taking it as my one carry-on to Africa this winter. It has a nice padded area for my iPad as well as areas for writing utensils, a spare set of clothes, medicines, my cameras & more. It is very comfortable. My only concern is that it starts out weighing over a pound, something not specified on the B&H website.

Perfect bag! I've been looking for a compact "normal" backpack for awhile without looking so much like a luggage on your back. Its great! I can fit my laptop, charger, my lunch, gorilla pod, 7D canon camera with an extra lens in the camera compartment, my external flash, hard drive and my Canonet GIII QL film camera all comfortably with room to spare, and its still very light! Great value!
Only thing I can say is there is no weather proof coat that Lowepro's all usually have, but for the price... its pretty AMAZING!!

I bought this for my girlfriend as a day bag for her iPad and Rebel T3i along with room for what would otherwise go in her purse. She loves it and it's going to be her carry-around bag on our vacation to Seattle. Same quality we have come to expect from all of our Lowepro bags.

I love this bag. Period. I spent quite some time looking for the right bag that I could use to transport my camera, a couple accessories, and some personal gear such as jacket, food, etc. This is the perfect one. If you just want your SLR with a lens attached and maybe one other lens plus batteries, cards, as well as some personal items and a laptop then this bag will do the job nicely. It's super comfortable to wear and very versatile. You can even collapse the camera compartment to use this as a regular backpack when you don't need your photography gear. For me, it's just the right size. A Canon 60D with 18-200mm attached fits nicely in the camera compartment with some room to spare. I'm really glad that I finally found this bag!

Its nice if your a lefty because the quick access camera pocket thats on the left side of the pack when you have it on. I can fit my Mac book Pro 15" in nice and snug. Also well designed. If your right handed might be a little awkward if your getting this for the side pocket. They should have that as an option.

Been trying and returning various backpacks - can't seem to get one that would make me happy. I have only 1 DSLR (Canon Ti2) and 3 lenses, including 300mm, but I also have a lot of accessories that I do want to have in one place (batteries, SD cards, all the cables, Motorolla XOOM tablet, external flash, flashlight, diffuser, etc...) when going on weekend trips.
I do have a small shoulder bag when I know I will only need a few things...otherwise I want one large backpack but not too heavy that would allow me to organize and carry with me all of my gear.
While this comes close it lacks some dividers to allow for better layout of my accessories.
Holds the camera with 1 lens in a separate compartment which is really nice. Everything else is a bit messy, especially if you have a lot of smaller items.
