The CompuDay Photo 150 from Lowepro is a messenger-type bag designed to handle both your 15.6" laptop, DSLR with kit lens and various other electronic tools you use on a daily basis. For a fast-moving photojournalist who wants a lightweight and easily manageable bag, the CompuDay 150 offers many features that make it a real contender for a rugged and dependable shooting bag.
The zippered fast access side pocket eliminates the need of having to open the entire bag to remove your camera. Not having to open the entire bag means that those around you will not see what else you have in the bag - a real security bonus. Once you've taken your shots, replace the camera, zip up the pocket and you're off again. Go have lunch, remove your laptop from its own protected pocket, download your images and head off to your next gig. There is also a generous 11.8 x 0.4 x 8.7" front zippered pocket for even more items. Again, no need to open the entire bag if you only want to grab a pen, paper or quick snack. You'll also have a handy mesh airline pull-out pocket can store small items like your MP3 player, iPhone, iPod, keys, or a small paper notepad.
The bag is manufactured so you need not worry about getting caught in marginal weather. Your gear will remain safely protected within its ballistic nylon exterior. It's a comfortable bag to carry with its wide, adjustable shoulder strap or its quick-grab handle that make it easy when navigating through chaotic airports or other crowded venues. And, if you're using a rolling cart, the bag has even been supplied with a mesh trolley sleeve so you can quickly slip the bag over the handle and rest it on top of your luggage.
Inside, you have a separate protected pocket for a 15.6" laptop as well as an adjustable camera compartment to fit and hold whatever gear you are carrying that day. Another "wow" feature of the 150 is the removable accessory pouch that can be readily extracted for, perhaps, an airline security check or even if you don't feel you need it on any given day.
With its handsome Lowepro logo proudly displayed on the front and backed by a lifetime warranty, the CompuDay 150 meets the needs of the shooter who appreciates top quality in a decent-sized, reasonably-priced bag without the weight and cost of a traditional, bulkier shoulder bag.

Very comfortable, easy to carry all day long. Very easy to access the camera while still on the shoulder. The only thing to make it better would be the location of the shoulder strap, but that is a very minor issue.

I like Lowepro a lot -- tough materials, careful ergronomics, well built (except the plastic clasps that hold down the main flap are a little weaker than i would have expected.) All in all -- typically great Lowepro quality.

Id give this bag 4 1/2 stars (but B%H doesnt allow that) It only loses half a star because of the design choices to do with the strap.
One of the main rules about photography is always have your camera with you. This bag allows me to carry my 15 inch laptop, documents, sunglasses + reading glasses, water bottle, laptop charger and even something warm to wear. In addition to this you can carry around you SLR in the amazing pocket. Easily fits my D7000 with a number of combos. Plenty of room for the 35mm 1.8G or the 18-55 kit lens. Will also fit my 60mm 2.8D macro + SB400(in the padded case). It will even fit the D7000 and the 18-200 VRII!! If i'm going out shooting I can fit 2-3 other lenses and 2 SB-700 flash guns in the main pocket. When you dont want to have your camera in the pocket, there is a strap to compress it. I'm a bit OCD about protecting my camera gear (and everything else) and this bag (and most other lowepro products) cater to this desire. Everything panel and side of this bag is padded, its quite protective. I don't find the camera significantly throws it off balance, however my laptop is quite heavy so it even it out. However, I do find the strap annoying. I dont like having padded section on straps, so the fact this bag doesnt have one doesnt bother me. The problem with this strap is that its not removable. I like to wear the strap on my right shoulder, and at a certain height, as a result the plastic adjustment thing (sorry I dont know the name of that) is in an annoying spot. This is a minor complaint.
In addition to these specifics, this bag looks good. It doesnt look like a camera bag, it looks more like a nice laptop + general bag. I will be using this bag for all day to day activities and specific photography outings.

I am a national manager for an engineering firm and travel throughout the U.S. weekly. I am, of course, also a shutterbug. I wanted a messenger style bag to carry my 15" laptop, a portfolio and some documents, and also my Nikon D90 with the 18-55mm kit lens attached and a 35mm f/1.8 for low light shooting. I have used Lowepro products for years and have been satisfied with their product quality (though not always their designs), so when they introduced this bag I gave it a shot. Overall, this is a pretty good bag, but there are many obvious design flaws.
Pros: The bag easily holds the items I usually carry, and much more. The zippered pocket on the front flap is very large, with internal pocket dividers that help keep things like boarding passes, keys, reading glasses and other small accessories very accessible without having to get inside the bag. My DSLR fits easilty into a zippered side pocket, back side down, and is easily accessible without opening the bag. On the other side is elastic exterior pocket designed for a water bottle. Underneath the front flap are two velcro pockets for a cell phone and business cards. There is a strap on the back for attaching it to a luggage trolley. Finally, the cordura nylon exterior material is very durable.
Cons: The shoulder strap is stitched on and non-removable, so that it tends to get tangled with other luggage when on a trolley. Worse yet, the strap has no padding whatsover, and is very uncomfortable when carrying weight in the bag. For Lowepro to not provide a padded, removable shoulder strap on this particluar bag is a major marketing faux pas. The gusseting on the camera side of the bag tends to fold outward when the camera is in its pocket, exposing the interior of the bag to the elements. Furthermore, the plastic buckles to close down the front flap are under the flap and hard to get to, making opening and closing it very cumbersome. LowePro should have provided zippered closures on the sides of the front cover flap to secure the interior items, and should have attached the closure buckles on the outside. In addition, the bag does not include a raincover, which could have easily been integrated into the front cover flap. The bag is poorly balanced and bulges on one side when the camera is in the side pocket. To balance out the weight and shape you have to stuff the other side of the bag with something equally bulky and heavy as a camera. A padded interior pocket on the non-camera side would help balance the shape better, and could be used to hold a second lens. Finally, the padding of the camera pocket is pretty thin, and I am not sure that it would prevent damage if someone were to jam another piece of luggage on top of it.
Lowepro should pay me a consulting fee because if they were to make the fixes recommended above, this would be a great messenger bag. However, as is, it is only a good bag. I will keep using it for now, but am looking at what appear to be better designs from competitors.

I was looking for a bag to carry my dslr and some additional photo equipment on trips, that will also perform as a simple bag to carry letter sized documents and notebooks during workdays, while still accomodating a body with a sinle lens.
I really like the way the camera is accesed from the side of the bag. It fits a dslr and a medium sized lens (canon 17-40) rather tightly.
I just wish there would be a zipper to close the main space in the bag under the flap, because I'm allways afraid things might fall from it, and protection from the weather would be much better too.
One of the inside velcros was not properly stitched and came out (and given its possition it is impossible to mend now).
Still, I'm very happy with the bag, there isn't really many more options in this size range.

Great every-day bag for the basics.
I bought this bag for the times when I just need the basics, and want to travel light. It allows me to do just that.
I'm long time Lowepro fan, and this bag is everything you would expect from them.
