Pretty goo. I love how light it is. I made a plate so I could mount different tripod heads on it because the original is not good.

I carefully weighed my camera with the biggest lens to be sure this was appropriate. It was 2 lbs. 6oz., well within the recommended wieght for tripod. The ball head will NOT hold this amount of wieght steady on any vertical shots. It slides no matter how much I tighten the ball head. Also the quick release plate will come unscrewed if you try to shoot verticals. Other than that it works fine. I wish I could put a different ball head on it!

I owned a tripod previously that broke and was recommended this one by my photography professor! I absolutely love it! It is well worth the money! The ball head makes it easier to turn the camera any angle!

Comments about Manfrotto MKC3-P01 Compact Series Tripod with Built-in Ball Head (Black):

As a B-Roll camera for our Canon DSLR's, this has been ideal. Typically we use a 50mm, 35mm or 24mm lens and just let it sit and do its thing!

The tripod is easy to pack and carry, light and in-expensive. Careful attention is needed to make sure the camera isn't top heavy, however camcorders and DSLR's will be fine with a standard size lens. Typical of Manfrotto, it feels well-made and handles easily.

One concern is the ease at which the quick release can be knocked/nudged, and with the already light frame, its a good idea to weigh the legs down where possible. That said, if you follow the weight restrictions, and take strong winds into consideration and use sand bags, etc, this is a very stable pair of legs.

Otherwise, a pro/semi-pro reliable product for a great price.

Comments about Manfrotto MKC3-P01 Compact Series Tripod with Built-in Ball Head (Black):

The tripod is really lightweight and fits nicely in the Manfrotto backpacks. It has a nice grip for the camera and my Canon XTi attaches and is held well. I however would not recommend this for high wind areas, as the lightweight property is one of the big positives for the tripod also is one of the disadvantages. But overall a great product that comes well packaged and I would recommend it.

I use the MKC3 to hold cameras steady when I can't do it myself. Cameras attach to the top. The legs spread out and can be adjusted for height. It's not the best tripod I've used--but it was [$]. It's a good, light-weight, cheap solution when you need something in a pinch. Wouldn't make it my primary tripod, though. It won't hold up for heavey use.

Small, compact tripod which is very sturdy and durable. It is perfect for my Canon G9 point and shoot. Very easy to use with center post that is reversible for more compact storage. Four collapsible leg clamps is too many. Would be better with two or three.

It is compact and lightweight with good finishing. The ball head holds my Canon 7D with standards lens in all directions including vertical.

But the quick release plate if VERY unreliable. If you are holding the tripod, the camera would fall off.

Comments about Manfrotto MKC3-P01 Compact Series Tripod with Built-in Ball Head (Black):

I replaced a Canon Tripod with this MKC3 because the quick release lever on the Canon broke.

The two tripods are quite different in design. The Italian made Manfrotto tripod differs from the Canon the way an Alfa Romeo differs from a Lexus.... One is not necessarily better, just different styles.

The Manfrotto is more unique and seems of higher quality. While the Canon seemed more stable (although lets not forget it broke!), that is because it does not fold into as compact a package as the Manfrotto.

Comments about Manfrotto MKC3-P01 Compact Series Tripod with Built-in Ball Head (Black):

I was looking for a quality lightweight tripod for travel that wouldn't break the bank and wouldn't make me cry if it was stolen. This Manfrotto fits the bill. Other reviewers have complained that this is not as substantial as a studio tripod. It's not. It's not supposed to be a studio tripod. This is a very affordable kit that I don't mind putting my 5D on. I do wish it was designed to change heads on if I want to change things up in the future.

It fits very good to my D7000 camera and a 18-105 kit len. The most convenient point is that it is extremely light and easy to carry, which means you can simply put it in your bag and take it with you.

I can carry this tripod anywhere I want - it's small, lightweight and quite sturdy for its size. I also have a heavy duty tripod which I only use for a serious photo assignment. But this one I carry with me everyday in my Manfrotto Unica VII messenger bag. So now I don't have to worry about any blurry picture when it get's dark outside.

Flimsy construction, too lightweight. Feels almost as if it wouldn't support a camera, it did alright though with mine. Should have spent the extra money for a better one! But I hardly use a tripod so it will do for now.
