I'm using this on my T2i. I haven't had a ton of time to play around with it, but so far, I'm loving the HSS capabilities!
I like the way it locks onto the hotshoe with a button instead of a screw type lock, much quicker.
The only thing I've noticed is that sometimes when it's on my camera, it will make it autofocus without me touching anything. I'm not sure if it's some sort of loose connection, but I do know it's this flash that does it - it only happens when the flash is mounted to the camera & turned on.
Also, the built-in diffuser/bounce card on this flash have a lot to be desired. It's almost impossible to get out of the flash body without a "tool" of some sort. It also doesn't lay flat against the flash. I also have a Nissin flash & the built-in diffuser/bounce card are much better on it.
So far I'm very pleased with this flash.

This flash misfired too often and the E-TTL did not work properly with my T3i. E-TTL would not set past 1/60 sec and I ended up with many overexposed photos. I am exchanging this for a Canon 430 EX II, thanks to B&H excellent customer service.
I bumped the rating to 3 stars due to the tripod mount and remote wireless flash capablity.

Comments about Vivitar DF-483-CAN Wireless TTL LCD Flash for Canon:
Flash is perfect for my needs, I bought it for a family event that everyone wanted me to take pix for. Has plenty of power/range, tilts so you can bounce the light, the built-in diffuser is a little flimsy in that it doesn't stay really flat against the unit, but seemed to work ok. The bounce card worked just fine too, noticed sparkles in everyone's eyes, so that is a plus. Also like the fact it is not too cumbersome when mounted onto the camera, it is a perfect size.

I'm a novice and had never used a wireless flash before and this flash was very easy to use. It has multiple settings which also makes it easy to get just the right amount of light on your subject. So glad I made this purchase for my first flash.

Im a freelance photographer and got this unit for a slave strobe. It works well as a manual strobe as well as its ttl shooting.
The only downside to me is its interface...it is a litte complex to choose your desired settings but once u do it works great!

I have a canon xsi and I can get the falsh to work in the high speed manual mode. Vivitar told me it is supposed to interact and work with the xsi but that is not what I have experienced. That said I have gotten to play around with it in manual and have gotten some good results. It is a good product but wish I would be able to have on board camera control

Comments about Vivitar DF-483-CAN Wireless TTL LCD Flash for Canon:
I purchased this flash for the ability to go down to 1/32 power and the versatility of the flash head. I had purchased the 383 prior to this flash but found I needed the ability to reduce the power even more. For the price, I find this flash is a good buy, but there are a couple issues. The control for the power is rather cumbersome. Once you cycle through your powers, instead of recycle to 1:1, it moves through the channels for the wireless control. Which would mean 12 to 15 more taps of the button to get back to the power control. I found that if you switch between the slave function, it will go back to 1:1, but also it will reset your zoom value. The other bad point is when I received the flash, the bounce card and the diffuser was already broken and fell out of the flash head. As I rarely use these, I kept the flash as is.
