You'll find an array of connections for both legacy components and 6 advanced HDMI 1.4a inputs including one on the front panel for convenience. These support 3D content, Audio Return Channel and 4K upscaling with a video chip from Marvell Qdeo.

The HT-RC360 supports digital decoding of advanced lossless Dolby and DTS formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio as well as Audessy DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIZ to add additional dimension to your surround sound experience. With WRAT technology, clean audio is ensured thanks to a powerful amplifier design. Commanding your new receiver is seamless with the user-friendly GUI and on-screen display so you can make adjustments easily. Housed in a sturdy chassis with a solid aluminum front, this receiver packs a sophisticated presence in any setup.

7.2 Channels of Surround Sound
A realistic, cinematic experience is yours with the 100-watts per channel HT-RC360 that offers support for a 7.2 system. It can provide enveloping surround sound for your favorite movies, games and music to create compelling entertainment experiences. Dual subwoofer pre-outs let you enjoy additional heart-pumping low frequency support.
6 HDMI 1.4a Inputs With 3D and ARC
This receiver offers an array of connectivity options with 6 HDMI 1.4a (one on the front panel), 2 component video, one PC hookup and 5 composite video inputs with one output. If you're connecting by HDMI, the 1.4a specification means this receiver can carry 3D video and an Audio Return Channel (ARC). If you also have a 3D-ready display, 3D-ready cable and 3D glasses, you're on your way to enjoy wraparound visuals with 3D Blu-ray discs and gaming. Support for ARC means you can send audio data from your TV "upstream" to the receiver to eliminate the need for a separate audio connection.
Marvell Qdeo 4K Upscaling
A Marvell Qdeo video chip allows this receiver to upscale your standard video source materials like 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i/p all the way up to 4K x 2K (3840 x 2160). This video processor utilizes algorithms designed to eliminate video noise and artifacts like "jaggies" and feathering. If you have a compatible widescreen display, this means your Blu-ray discs and DVDs will achieve more detail and cinematic picture quality.
Stream PC Audio and Internet Radio
This receiver connects to your home internet connection or home PC. It provides access to internet radio sources like Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, Slacker, Sirius Internet Radio, MediaFly and vTuner with high fidelity audio reproduction. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 platform and includes a DLNA certification for media streaming.
Audessy DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIz
With support for Audessy DSX, you can incorporate "front height" speakers in place of surround back speakers to achieve a wider soundstage. These can carry ambient non-directional audio for a new vertical dimension to your movies and games. Dolby Pro Logic IIz offers a similar "front height" speaker option that works to give you an even more immersive home theater experience.
Four DSP Gaming Modes
The HT-RC360 also offers four different DSPs for different types of video games. Choose from rock, sports, action and role playing modes to customize your gaming experience whether you're playing 3D or 2D games.
WRAT Technology (Wide Range Amplifier Technology)
While WRAT was originally developed for Onkyo's high-end amplifiers to handle the sonic demands of high-resolution formats including DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD, it also provides an improved dynamic S/N ratio and better delivery of momentary power peaks from all other formats, including high-definition and regular DVDs, HD broadcasts, and digital files such as MP3s and gaming. Utilized in the HT-RC360, it allows for movie-theater impact and audio purity.
Audessy 2EQ
With the included microphone, Audyssey 2EQ determines the number of speakers connected, their size (for bass management), optimum crossover frequencies to the subwoofer of you have one hooked up, and distances from your listening position. Audessy 2EQ minimizes distortion caused by room acoustics by capturing room acoustical problems over the listening area in both the frequency and time domain for clear, well-balanced audio.
Audessy Dynamic EQ
With Audessy Dynamic EQ, you can enjoy great sound even when listening at low volume levels. Audessy Dynamic EQ takes into account human perception and room acoustics. It selects the correct frequency response and surround volume levels so that the content sounds the way it was created at any volume level.
iPod Ready via USB or Optional Dock
The USB port offers a direct digital connection for your iPod, or you can plug it into the optional iPod dock (UP-A1) to incorporate your portable music library. If you want to experience HD Radio you can purchase the Onkyo HD Radio receiver (UP-HT1) which also plugs into the universal port. HD Radio is an additional signal that both AM and FM stations can include along with their convention broadcasts. The content can be anything from news to music to tags that can tell you the title and artist of a song that's playing.
Advanced Music Optimizer
With this receiver, your compressed MP3 files will sound better than ever thanks to the built-in Music Optimizer, which enhances the sound quality of your compressed music files. This feature works with PCM digital audio input signals with a sampling rate below 48 kHz and analog audio input signals.
Multi-Room Audio
'Powered Zone 2' capability means this receiver is also capable of powering 2-channel stereo audio in another room (Zone 2), while also powering sound for the main room. You can even have a different source in each room. If you add an amplifier to the second room, you can add to your stereo audio and enjoy multi-channel sound in multiple rooms.

I have the HT-RC360 as the connection between my HTPC and the TV. By being connected in this manner I have seriously reduced the cable clutter in and around my Media Center area. Essentially I have one HDMI cable From the HTPC to the Receiver and one HDMI from the Receiver to the TV. Audio and Video are both passed through the Receiver and Video is displayed to the TV and Audio is sent to the Surround Sound Speakers. The Receiver handles the changing of the type of audio being sent, all by itself, based on the type of media being played and the recorded format. So if I am playing a movie for instance and it is Dolby Digital, then that is what it shows on the Receiver. If it is recorded Music in MP3 Format then the Receiver uses NEO 6, another Dolby format. The same goes for many of the other formats available such as DTS and others. I like the ability to update the Firmware on the unit and the fact that it upscales the picture from any connected device, such as my Wii. I really like this Receiver. It was a upgrade from a 10 year old Onkyo that was still working fine.

Comments about Onkyo HT-RC360 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver:

Bought this to replace a 12 year old Onkyo receiver. This far surpasses my expectations. The manual is a little intimidating at first, but if you connect the receiver to your TV via HDMI, you can set everything up using a graphical interface. Overall, sound and aesthetics are great.

Comments about Onkyo HT-RC360 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver:

I was upgrading from a TX-NR602 i have had for 7 years or so as everything i have now has HDMI. I wasn't sure about going from the TX series to the HT series but it appears that worry was for nothing. This is a great sounding receiver with plenty of power and in/outs.

Overall this is a great value for the money. It is a loaded system that can handle almost anything you throw at it.

Comments about Onkyo HT-RC360 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver:

everthing as advertized. I replaced a perfectly funtioning Integra (Onkyo) surround unit w/ this one as I now needed HDMI switching. I was amazed at the peformance and cabability at this price level. A couple of notes I would have liked to know:
              1. It has 'throughput' for ONE HDMI input so you can watch cable/satelite w/o having to switch the unit on. This has to be set from the online menu. if you need/want more, you'll need to get/do your own splitting/switching outside of the receiver.
              2. It has no phono input as few receivers do these days. Thus if you want to hook up a phono (I did) you need a pre-amp. They are inexpensive ($12-20) and work fine. All in all, I'm very impressed w/ this receiver and don't hesitate in recomending it.

Comments about Onkyo HT-RC360 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver:

I got my first Onkyo AV amp in 2004 shortly after Voom started offering HDTV via Satellite but unlike the HT-RC360 my first Onkyo always had trouble switching between different audio formats. Even after sending it in for service twice, in never worked quite right. Had to fiddle around with it to get the audio to play. Once I got it working I'd just leave it on so it would work the next time we wanted to watch TV. But that wasted power, and every time there was a power outage (or someone turned it off by mistake) I had to mess with it to make it work again. Also, there wasn't enough HDMI inputs . So when it stopped working completely I was thinking I'd never buy another Onkyo. But alas, after doing some research I discovered the Onkyo HT-RC360 is a great buy for the money (about a third of the cost of my first Onkyo). So I thought I'd give Onkyo another try. And I'm glad I did. My new Onkyo HT-RC360 is working perfectly. Switches between audio formats without any issues. Was easy to set up and configure. I like how the menu settings and volume level are displayed on my TV when making adjustments. And it has plenty of HDMI inputs. But most importantly, it sounds great! Considering the many features and great specs of the HT-RC360, the price is incredibly low! What a deal...

Comments about Onkyo HT-RC360 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver:

I haven't had a chance to use the networking part of this unit, but if it's as user friendly as the rest of the functions, I'm sure it will work just fine. I use the 5.1 for movies in my home theater and the extra 2.1 in my large basement great room combined with the 5.1 in stereo all channel mode for huge football parties.

Comments about Onkyo HT-RC360 7.2 Channel Network A/V Receiver:
