The Bell & Howell WV10HD Waterproof Camcorder is a budget-friendly way to film under the sea. Go up to 9.8' underwater with the WV10HD to capture beautifully detailed 1280 x 720 high def footage. LOVE the pistol grip and the video quality was great. HOWEVER, that's where it ends. The quality and engineering on this device is REALLY lacking. With most quality cameras, the batteries "snap" into the body and THEN you put a cover over that. This camera relys on the cover only to hold it in place. Lot a pressure on there and could EASILY come off under water. The plasic and buttons are CHEAP and you instantly wonder how long it will last. Too bad, if they brought this camera to market at a slightly higher pricepoint with better materials (and a better battery design)it could be a great little camera. PS: Mine stopped charging the day after I got it. B and H replaced my money quickly and easily.

This is a camara just for fun and videos of kids and grandchildren playing at the pool or beach. Do not expect much for the zoom. Once you try to close up you loose the focus. It better to leave as is. Also great to document your Kayak adventure.

I'm a professional video editor and sometimes like to shoot my own personal things. In this case, I used the product to shoot my vacation with my nieces and nephews in the Outer Banks, N.C. The picture isn't the best in the world, and i didn't care about sound for my video, but for the price...it's well worth it. The fact that the Bell & Howell WV10HD shoots underwater was a HUGE bonus. Being able to shoot my nieces and nephews as they surfed, and rode waves was fantastic. I'm now cutting the footage [which is is an H264 QT] in Final Cut Pro and they'll have a nice vacation video. The zoom isn't great at all..but I don't really use zoom too much anyway. If you just point and shoot it's great. This product is extremely portable and not a burden to carry around while on vacation. I do recommend getting a $15 8Gb card to store your media on...the internal drive barely holds any memory. The still camera works great too, and gives you up to a 12 megapixel photo. I would highly recommend this to the consumer/prosumer market.

Shot several hours of very high quality video on one battery charge. Recorded directly to flash drive, never had to transfer to card. Also, the still camera feature takes very high resolution shots suitable for enlargment. The only criticism is that the digital zoom feature (there is not optical zoom) caused a decrease in image quality with the length of the zoom. Images taken at full zoom were almost nothing but shadows and silhouettes. No problem: don't used the zoom. Also, the editing sofware that came bundled with the camera was very easy to use with good quality results--a bit limited for pros, but not an issue with me. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

I have used this camera in areas where I didn't want to risk a more expensive unit, and I have been blown away by the quality of the video. It's a great unit for around the pool or the boat, and I have used it underwater in the pool to a depth of eight feet with great success. The camera is easy to use and works as advertised.
Some may call it a toy, but I call it the right tool for the job. I just love it.

Bought this in Super-store. Had a chance to play with it a little first in the store and was pleased with its performance. We use it to take videos in high definition at the beach and by the pool. Everything came out nicely. We love the yellow color. Has a cool dedicated underwater nutton. All in all a solid camcorder.

Purchased this camera as a back-up for the wife to carry around on our cruise. Upon using it, the LCD screen shows fuzzy lines right out of the box (think old VHS tapes that need the tracking adjusted). The final video however does not have this when exported to a computer. Used it for approximately 5 hours without issue, until my wife got in the pool with it (5ft pool - well within the pressure limits listed in the description) the camera then started shutting off by itself, and shortly thereafter the screen turned solid white with faint outlines and a "jumping" image on playback. The video would slide from top to bottem in a never-ending loop. After getting out of the water and drying it off I replaced the battery with a spare I had purchased, checked everything and it still had that issue. After 4-5 attempts of turning it on and off (replacing batteries, SD cards, etc.) the device ceased to power on at all.
Other Notes:
The zoom is useless - but the lens itself has decent field of view.
