Comments about Viewsonic 8" LCD Digital Frame:
I bought the frame for my 90 year-old mother, who lives at quite a distance, so she could view some recent family photos. I figured I'd get it all set up, load the photos, and send it out to her so all she'd need to do is turn it on. First thing I attempted was to attach one end of the USB cable to my computer and the other end to the frame. I assumed that I could then copy my photos onto the frame through the F drive. However, my computer would not recognize that there was any device attached to it, so I had to load everything onto a flash drive and then attach the flash drive to the picture frame. The owner's manual purported to tell me how to copy picture files into a "Favorites" list, but try as I might I could not understand how to get them there. I did manage to load some photos and some music, but the songs play somewhat randomly and I can't figure out how my mom is going to be able to control them, let alone how to select an album to play. The picture quality of the display is good and the sound is fine, but I'm not at all confident that my mom is going to be able to do much more than play what I've given her, let alone add on more photos. There does not seem to be much range in the timing schedule, or at least I can't figure out how to keep a single picture on display for more than about 5 seconds. Perhaps with better instructions or more experience with these types of devices I would be more enthusiastic about the product. I still plan to send it to my mom, but I am waiting for her to tell me what else she wants me to load on it. I had wanted it to be a surprise, but opted to bring her into the conversation first, as ease of use is not its strong point.

Comments about Viewsonic 8" LCD Digital Frame:
I bought this digital frame by Viewsonic for a gallery presentation of a text based video. I chose it for its simple and slick design that would go well with my presentation, which all still stands. However after saving my video files in the format the booklet said was supported - the digital frames (yes I bought 2) would not play it. I kept getting "format not recognized message". I tried saving my video in every format possible, but none of them were recognized. Thankfully as my video was text based I converted everything to screen capture jpgs, and showed it as a slide show of photos. This worked really well, however note to everyone - this digital frame does not really play videos! It is great for photo slideshows, this feature works really well, it has beautiful design - but it does not really play videos - or at least most video formats used today.

I bought one for myself and one for my elderly Mother who doesn't have space to display family pictures. I was able to load the pictures without too much angst and the frames have been running fine.

Comments about Viewsonic 8" LCD Digital Frame:
Nice Looking Frame, Good Quality photo BUT would not recommend ever purchasing this frame. I'm returning the one I purchased and am very disappointed. Menu and remote not at all user friendly. Manual provided gives almost no info on using the frame, downloading photos, etc. Cannot easily scroll through photos and stop on one to display, random selection not at all random, but repeats same photos many times. I purchased this after reading solid reviews from consumer reports. Boy, were they wrong!
