The B+W 72mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
The Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is both an anti-reflection coating as well as a protective surface. It helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, it offers greater protection to the filter substrate and stays cleaner for longer than uncoated filters. The Nano coating associated with XS-Pro filters incorporates an additional 8th layer over the regular MRC and results in a better beading effect with water for greater cleaning efficiency.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features the XS-Pro Digital mount which is specifically designed for DSLR use with wide angle and zoom lenses. The filter ring is made from brass for durability as well as jamming prevention.
Note: This filter ring's outside diameter is slightly larger than the actual thread size, and because of this you may be unable to attach the lens manufacturer's bayonet-mounted lens hood to the lens while using this filter. This is dependent on your specific lens and how thick the front rim of the lens is; with thinner, low-profile lenses usually being affected more.

Comments about B+W 72mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter:
Great optics as expected per B+W. Clarity and quality in one package. Would recommend for routine use on lens even if UV filter not necessary. When using excellent lenses, it pays to have excellent filters in front.

Comments about B+W 72mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter:
This is my second B+W filter. For the lenses I buy I demand the best quality, that's why I choose B+W. My first lens was perfect out of the box, however this lens had what appeared to be a fine spray of some material on both sides of the glass. I'm attempting to clean it but am considering returning it for an exchange. Build quality is excellent, I feel that this is purely a QC issue.

Comments about B+W 72mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter:
Filter works great on my Canon EFS 18-200 Zoom lens. It screws on tightly and smoothly and the lens cap attaches to the Filter firmly, I have no worries about knocking it off accidently. The Filter is large enough that it does not intrude on a wide angle shot. I am basically frugal so I found it to be a fairly expensive filter. However I prefer to think of a friends advice - "Always buy the best and you will only cry once!"

Comments about B+W 72mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter:
To start I know alot of photographers debate over wether or not it's a sinn to put UV filter on Zeiss lenses. I own only Zeiss primes for 5D mkII and I use this setup for work. I wanted something to protect the lenses, as well as the best quality.
72 XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter by B+W is a great filter, I use this on all Zeiss lenses.
I also use B+W Polarizer and ND filter. Very high quality and brass rings, so easier to loosen.

Comments about B+W 72mm XS-Pro UV MRC-Nano 010M Filter:
Very impressed so far. Prior to choosing this filter, I was contemplating between Sony Ziess 72 mm and the Hoya multicoated HD. B+W is more money but you get all Brass ring, high quality glass, X-S Pro is very slim with outer threads for your lens cap. Also a special nano coating which makes cleaning very easy.
After reading a lot of reviews, I noticed that Hoya had a lot of complaints regarding keeping it clean and Sony Ziess is just a multicoated protector and not a uv filter.
Although when my B+W filter arrived, I was very disappointed as it had a very minor scratch and had to be returned. B&H quickly send me another one rightaway and the faulty one was sent back.
Great customer service from B&H.

The best thing about this filter, is you never know it's there. It's super thin and ghosting and crazy, unwanted flare is cut down dramatically.
