The manual DC-220 15" Heavy-Duty Rotary Paper Trimmer from Carl is an extremely functional cutter for home or office use. This ruggedly built trimmer can do a full day's work with its capability to cut up to 30 sheets at a time. In addition to paper, the DC-220 can handle foam board and plastic sheets - a bonus for not only business use but educational venues as well.
The trimmer is durable and stands on a firm metal base that is calibrated in 1" squares. For ease of use, the base is pre-marked with standard photo and letter-sizes. Cutting is a breeze since the magnetic paper guide holds the paper in place for precise cuts each time. This means that if you need to make a series of cuts, each one will be as exact as the previous one. Supporting the paper guide is a sturdy rail guide that also assists in holding the paper in place.
The DC-220 comes with a a nifty storage space for an extra blade and cutting mat as well as a more than respectable lifetime warranty.

I am a avid crafter an need a paper trimmer that could cut through thicker materials. This paper trimmer cuts through just about any material like butter! I have cut everything from cardstock to heavy chipboard with no problems at all! I love it and B&H ships super fast!

Comments about Carl DC-220 15" Heavy-Duty Rotary Paper Trimmer:
The trimmer was great when I got it. It cut everything straight as expected. But then after sitting in the corner of my room, untouched, for a few months, I went back to trim something and the cut was askew. I have no idea what happened to it as I've always moved it around using both hands on the base. I have the model with a grey base and neon yellow cutting guide. Looks like the blue one is newer. I ended up contacting CARL under the warranty & they gave me an RMA to send in. It cost me $16 to ship it to them but they fixed it and sent it back in under 2 weeks time (might've been just 1 wk turnaround... I forget). Seems like the fix to the trim guide and the cutting mat strips corrected the problem. I would just suggest users to handle with care when moving it around as the trim guide/rail seems to be prone to becoming misaligned.

The cutter is so easy to use, the guideline is accurate, and the cut itself is extremely sharp. It feels substantial and looks like something that can be in a professional business office. The best cutter I've ever owned. Would recommend it highly!
Ordering from B&H was so easy, efficient, and the product arrived on time. Thank you!

Our church had used an old guillotine-style cutter for more years than I've been alive and when one of the pastors asked me to look into getting a different cutter (I personally owned a rotary), I jumped on it and did my research.
We love that it clamps down on a good-sized sheet of paper at one time and you can make multiple passes to cut without worrying about shifting. The measurement markings are clear and I love the little compartment to hold extra blades and mats.
It does take a little getting used to in that you need to lock it in place before each cut, but that really does make it more functional in the end.
I do not like that the magnetic stopper has a loose fit and therefore can be placed (or it shifts) so that it is not square to the cutting blade, but this is minor. The fact that there is a stopper is more than I find in most cutters.

I used a cheaper trimmer for a while and got real frustrated. This trimmer is great for photos and more. Holds things down tight and cuts clean and straight. Very easy to use and I had no problem cutting up to 6 photos at a time. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
