I own the NC7 which is the headphone version that is made by Sony. I wanted an earphone option, and this have worked equally as well.

They offer about 80% noice-cancellation. You will still hear engine noise when sitting on the plane, but because they are in ear, they will be more effective than headphone versions of the same make.

Earphones produce good bass, and the sound quality is very good. The sound is very smooth. As with any active earphone noise-cancelling solution, batteries are required, and this is provided as a clip.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a cost-effective in ear solution.

this was a quick buy and quick return for me - but the headphones are good. Why? well, i was looking for ok sound quality and noise cancelling. These sound good, they are nice. They actually isolate noise pretty effective, so your surroundings will be mostly muted --> but the NC does not do anything more... well, not much. With or without it, not much of a difference, as the headphones itself block out most... so I figured out it makes no sense to carry around the battery compartament with these, and returned them. Plus the cord is somewhat short for a tall guy like me - the various sections are not ok for me, I have to clip the battery compartment somewhere and it's not a good position...

Comments about Sony MDR-NC13 Noise-Canceling In-Ear Stereo Headphones:

These ear buds do pretty much what I was expecting of them. I bought them to put under some serious noise blocking ear muffs and was hoping that the noise cancellation feature would deaden the sound even more (mowing the lawn). Unfortunately the noise cancellation feature is minimal. In a totally quiet setting you can hear a difference when the noise cancellation is turned, it is a minor difference. I also own both the ear bud and over ear Bose noise cancellation phones, and they do a great job. But I wanted something less expensive that I would not be too terribly upset if they fell off my head and got eaten by the lawn mower. The sound is very good, better than average, and in-line with the price.

      Noise-Canceling Plane Flights

Comments about Sony MDR-NC13 Noise-Canceling In-Ear Stereo Headphones:

I do a lot of flying over the course of a year and noise canceling headsets are a must. In the past I've used Bose but I get ear fatigue after a while and they take up more room in my briefcase. The MDR-NC13's don't remove as much noise as the Bose but do a great job of filtering the low end rumble of a flight. The headphones also are great for making phone calls in a noisy environment.

The package comes with dual pin adapters that some airlines use. Also included are extra ear buds which can lose their shape after time.

One feature missing is a hi-low volume control which comes in handy if the volume control on the plane's audio system is not working.

        fits perfetly in my ear.

downside may be that they are quite big and stick out a bit from your ear.

Comments about Sony MDR-NC13 Noise-Canceling In-Ear Stereo Headphones:

I have owned a set of these headphones since 2010. I purchased them to quite the noisy people in class. They worked beautifully! I also use them on the airplane to dampen the noise from the engines.

Product does what it says it will. While it may not eliminate all the noise it definitely makes a big difference. Batteries last a long time if you remember to turn them off after use. Having a battery pack in the middle of the cord took some getting used to.

I have to buy another set because of damage to one cord making one earbud not work. I think they would last for a few more years if I hadn't damaged it.

Do not buy this product. I used to buy this Sony nose cancelling earphone. I have Sony model MDR-NC11 it works fine, but with this model it is not like what I expected. The sound is so low that I am considering to buy a amplifier for sound, because i can't hear loud enough. My normal earphone sounds much louder than this Sony NC13.
            I think I got a lemon?

I bought these for use with my iPod Nano. I love the iPod, but find their earbuds extremely uncomfortable. I wanted an in-ear headphone with the ability to try different sizes of ear caps. Yes, these phones come with different sizes of ear caps. They are advertised to be noise canceling, but I have to disagree. While on my riding lawnmower, I can guarantee there is little if any noise canceling ability with these.

The headphones are comfortable, but the noise-cancellation feature is fairly weak. I turned on noise-cancellation and off several times during my flight on a 737 and I did not notice any meaningful differences between the two modes. The ambient engine noise was equal in the two modes, and was primarily isolated by the canal-fitted earpieces.
