The Daiwa/Slik DST-73 Broadcast Tripod with Fluid Video Head features a 3-stage leg section and an all-metal head, and a maximum load capacity of 15 lb (7 kg). The professional-quality tripod made from die-cast aluminum features a 75mm ball base with a true-fluid pan head. Featuring an LED light, the single bubble leveler of the tripod allows you to adjust the camera's level even in low-light conditions. When activated, the LED light illuminates the leveler for about 20 seconds.
Equipped with 2 handle mounts on both sides, the DST-73 Broadcast Tripod head can accommodate 2 pan bars. A long-side quick release plate allows you to easily mount and dismount your camera. The tripod head is equipped with a counterbalance mechanism and offers +80° to -90° tilt angles.
A built-in mid-level spreader holds the tripod legs in position and allows it to be set up on uneven grounds. Featuring dual-rails on the upper stage, the 3-stage legs add stability and prevent snap-back at the end of panning movements. The DST-73 Broadcast Tripod has a design that resists twisting of its legs.

Comments about Daiwa / Slik DST-73 Broadcast Tripod with Fluid Video Head:
I think this is the most afordable fluid video head for profesional work. The way this fluid head works it´s almost like others expensive heads. Very goo ´´tilt´´ and ´´pan´´.

Comments about Daiwa / Slik DST-73 Broadcast Tripod with Fluid Video Head:
The tripod is solidly built and very easy to use, but there are some issues. These could be a one-off, but it's a critical issue. The level would appear to have been installed incorrectly. When the bubble is centered the head is leaning to the right. I'm having to use a separate level to make sure the head is positioned correctly. For the [$] price I would expect a little better.

Comments about Daiwa / Slik DST-73 Broadcast Tripod with Fluid Video Head:
I use this tripod for video and shortfilm production with digital cameras of different sizes. Even with the heavier rig with all accessories including monitor, hdd DVR, mattebox followfocus etc. the fluid head works nicely.
I am very happy with the head and the legs. The fluid head motion is very smooth out performing anything I have tried in this pricerange. All the knobs and buttons are easy to use and work well. As a bonus it has illuminated bubble level.
It is a bit heavy combination but then again very sturdy and smooth for the price.
Only thing I am a bit unsatisfied with is the fact that it is very hard or impossible to find spare/replacement quick release plates for this head.
