The Optoma TH1020 HD 1080p DLP Projector is an ideal choice to meet both the rigors of business use and the demands of discerning home theater enthusiasts. Quality starts with the 1080p resolution, a perfect mate for digital sources like Blu-ray or fast-action games. The projector packs a powerful 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness backed with a crisp 2,200:1 contrast ratio, enough to meet most ambient light challenges or leave the lights on for note-taking.
Texas Instruments' patented DLP imager features an innovation it calls BrilliantColor. Unlike other technologies such as LCD that use just three primary colors to produce the image, DLP technology with BrilliantColor uses up to six separate colors. BrilliantColor not only improves color accuracy, it brightens secondary colors as well. This combination increases the brightness of the colors by up to 50 percent over DLP projectors without BrilliantColor for accurate, true-to-life images
But the TH1020 can do a lot more than make beautiful pictures. Weighing in at 6.4 lb, there's a chance it may do some traveling and it won't have to be limited to domestic flights. It's got an international auto switching 100 - 240 volt 50 / 60 Hz power supply that draws 339W which drops to a single watt in Standby mode. The TH1020 can also project video in the NTSC, PAL and SECAM international video standards and has a multi-language OSD to facilitate operation.
Optoma has built extensive connectivity into the TH1020 including HDMI, Composite, VGA, S-video and a monitor loop through which functions in both Standby and Normal modes.
Lastly, to make sure that your TH1020 doesn't take unauthorized leave of the premises, security is provided by timer and password protection as well as a Kensington Lock slot.

Comments about Optoma Technology TH1020 HD 1080p DLP Projector:
I was looking for a projector that I could hook-up to my computer for work purposes and also watch TV and movies. At a throw distance of 13ft the image was "just OK" and the lettering on commercials was blurry. I called B&H for help and was not able to find solution. They recommended calling Optoma and gave me a number. I talked with Optoma and the best guess on their part was the projector was a lemon. I sent it back and have ordered a Viewsonic Pro8300 hoping for better luck. Overall, help at B&H and Optoma were willing to help but could not find the reason for the blurred picture.

Comments about Optoma Technology TH1020 HD 1080p DLP Projector:
This is a great little projector with very good image qaulity. It is one of the lowest priced projector I could find that was true HD image qaulity and am not disappointed. However the way the projector is throwing and keystoneing the image is terrible. I am a video artist an need to project in environments that are everything other then placing the projector on a table and projecting straight onto a wall. I found that any variation other then that scenario and the controls to be counter intuitive.

Comments about Optoma Technology TH1020 HD 1080p DLP Projector:
I use this product for mobile presentation with multimedia.
The 1080p resolution is clear, bright and even. I have connected laptops running 1080p via VGA cable and iPad and iPhone via HDMI. All displays show up beautifully.
At this price point, I am very happy with this native 1080p projection.
Also, the 5W speaker is very handy for and is easily audible in a conference room.
The menus are easy to navigate and all of the controls make sense.
The fan isn't loud, but it isn't quite either. I am very pleased with this purchase
