These earphones sound great, way better than I expected, considering the price point. I purchased these after my old Shures finally, after many years, died. I can't recall the model number of them, but they were a mid level Shure, costing about 2X the price of these. I'm very happy with the sound quality. Solid bass. Clear and satisfying sound. I use them primarily with my iphone at the gym, and a little bit with my computer while editing video. There are a few things that I don't care for, all unrelated to sound quality. First, the plug, though solid, is at a 90 degree angle, making it a little odd with the iphone. Second, the plug housing is not narrow at the base, making it incompatible with even a thin phone case. I have to use a short adapter cord. Who makes earphones that are not easily plugged into an iphone, and other portable devices likely to have some sort of case? My old Shures fit fine. Go figure. Third, unlike my prior Shures, which could be used in an "over the ear" configuration, or just straight in with a hanging cord, these are over the ear only because of the design. They are very comfortable in this use, and tend to stay put, but they require a little more effort to insert. The cords swivel on the earpiece, which is nice and helps with putting them on. Fourth, the first 2-3 inches of cord at the earpiece has a semi-rigid shell that needs to be bent over your ear. While very functional once it is in place, it again makes putting them on a bit harder. The cord is very long and seems durable. My overall impression is that this model is probably intended for musicians to monitor sound during performance, which is a different use than mine, where I tend to take them off frequently. So for sound I call it 5 stars. For the fiddly bits, but mostly the big plug, I take a star off and give it 4 stars. B&H service is stellar as always.

So I went to these after my dog ate my Klipsch Image S4s. While these definitely have more presence than the Image S4 (larger driver), I was slightly underwhelmed.

My hiphop definite sounds better because soundstage and clarity doesn't really matter. But when you are listening to vocals or jazz, the highs are just too muddled. The lows are heavy handed and linger and tend to drown out the already lacking highs.

So, if all you listen to is dubstep and hiphop, grab them! Certainly better than Beats or Boses. If you want something more musical, I'd have to say skip. I would recommend them with these reservations.

Also, they are really hard to put on...

    Fantastic!

This is an amazing set of earphones at this price point (~$). The very high design quality combined with its sound quality easily puts it in a category filled by much more expensive earphones. First, the passive sound isolation is simply amazing at -37dB. Correctly used, you seclude yourself from everything around you. The dynamic reponse and the sound space is spectacular. I wonder how much better the more expensive Shure earphones can really be compared to this model. I highly recommend it!

Use these for all listening... audio books, music, radio. Sound isolating works really well to mute background noise. Placing in your ears is a bit of a challenge at first, but once you get used to it... no problem.

Great universal fit IEM. I use these monitors many times per week and have had a pleasant expirience. I found the fitting that works best for me and it holds a solid seal with good noise isolation. Sound is crisp as well. Only con, is the hard plastic starts to irritate if i have the monitors in for a couple hours. you can get a speaker cable attachment but it doesnt have the memory cable over the ears

Sound great, look great, fit great. 4 stars just because, Wow, $ for earbuds?! But for me, kind of worth it. Not for chatting on your iPhone, by the way. Also, probably could use for sports but, well -- they are $. Probably sturdy enough, but do you want to risk losing them at the gym, or getting sweat in them while running?

I use the SE215's at home, while walking around the block and while at the gym. Very good at Sound Isolating, important at the gym, because of the TV's mostly playing news that I'd prefer to tune out. These Earphones sound so good, and big improvement over the others I've heard. Clear highs, slightly rolled off gives these a warm sound, which is refreshing on an ipod or Walkman.

I've had a difficult time in the past with in-ears fitting properly, but I have no problem with the SE215s. They're comfortable and isolate an incredible amount of outside noise which allows them to produce great audio quality at a low volume. Highly recommend!

I wanted a pair of sound-isolating earphones to use when I cut the grass. It takes me about two hours to cut the lawn- these are a welcome addition. I don't have to turn them up very loud and I still feel like my hearing is being protected. Not quite as easy to get in as the foam earplugs I have always used, but not a big deal.

These are great inexpensive in-ear personal monitors. I use them with the Shure PSM200 body pack receiver and it makes a world of a difference. Must have item for any live vocalist. I also use it as regular headphones when on the subway or on the road and the way it reduces outside noise is amazing. I can listen on lower volume and still hear great and clear.

We bought 11 pairs of these to use with our church band's in-ear monitor system. They sound great. I'm sure the multiple driver models would sound even better, but [$]$99, we've found the perfect solution for our needs.Everyone is very pleased with quality, and the included 6 options of earbuds make sure everyone gets the fit and feel they need.Learning to put them in is a bit tricky, but once you get it, the seal is excellent.

These are the best earbuds you can buy-period. At any price point, Shure makes the best. Don't waste your money on any other brand. Aside from the great sound, they are built to military spec-durable. I don't work for Shure, but I love their mics and earbuds/headphones.

Great sounding earbuds for the price. Good frequency response and you can push them pretty hard before distortion occurs. Once you get them in, they don't fall out, but there is a definite learning curve to getting them in properly. It would be nice if they made the red dot on the right side larger and more distinctive, especially in low light situations.

I replaced some old Shure E3's with these and couldn't be happier. The frequency range is way better and a detachable cable is an improvement. I don't think there could be much better option in this price range. They have imnproved the foam tips since I bought the E3's a I like them much better.
