When you're dealing with tough roads and crucial maneuvering, you need an edge over the competition. The T500 RS GT5 Racing Wheel from Thrustmaster is a force feedback racing wheel that allows you to immerse yourself in your racing games on your PC or Playstation 3. Officially licensed by Gran Turismo and Playstation, the T500 RS GT5 offers several realistic features, all metal construction and weighs in at a massive 36.4 pounds. In addition to the wheel you will find three pedals, two gearshift levers, a D-Pad, and 13 buttons including a home button for your PS3 console.
The angle of rotation of the wheel is adjustable up to 1080° (three full turns), and it automatically calibrates when the mains adapter and USB connector are engaged. Adjust the pedal height between four possible positions for the accelerator pedal, two for the brake pedal, and two for the clutch pedal to accommodate your personal gaming style and ergonomic needs. Spacing can be adjusted using the included allen key between three possible positions for the accelerator, three for the brake, and three for the clutch pedal. Using the included allen key you can also adjust the tilt, choosing from two positions for the accelerator, two for the brake and two for the clutch pedal.
You can set the travel or resistance position with long travel (resistance around 22 pounds), medium travel (resistance around 18.7 pounds), and short travel (resistance around 15.4 pounds). With the "Realistic Brake" mod, you can enable different sensations and resistance when braking. You can install it according to your preferences and position it against the upper or lower wall for different amounts of resistance.
The T500 RS pedal set features a unique design that allows for a choice of two positions, a floor position (F1 type) and suspended position (GT/Rally type). You can also attach it to a table or desk for ultimate stability during gameplay using the included table clamp. So whether you're gaming on your PC or PS3, this wheel and pedal set has what it takes to keep you immersed in the race and take control of the road.

I had purchased a Logitech G27 Racing Wheel and I had it for two years but really didn't have that much time using it. While racing the Logitech wheel I lost control of the wheel but all the buttons worked fine. After finding a fix online by tearing the wheel completely apart and fixing a loose screw, it would work for a half hour or so and then quit. I took it apart three times and then decided to invest my money in the T500 RS GT5 Racing wheel. I also purchased the F1 Ferrari Replica steering wheel. This unit is solid and strong. The Logitech always felt loose and out of control. The T500 is just like driving a car! You really feel like you are in control and it makes "Sim" racing so much more real and fun! The pedals are heavy duty and feel solid as well. I highly recommend the extra money if you are fairly serious about computer racing!

We use T500RS wheels in semi-pro, custom built / programmed racing simulators.
Great things about it:
T500RS's 1080deg rotation, precise and powerful force feedback and overall quality places this product high above competition in its price range. Replaceable rims and aftermarket hubs allowing installation of real-life racing rims make this product even better. And yes, it is sturdy and powerful enough to support even larger rims.
Not so grat things about it ( but still just minor issues) :
Pedals - while still very good product, in this price range Thrustmaster should use load cell / pressure sensor in brake pedal. "Reversing" option is cool, but user should have a choice to reverse separate pedals ( e.g. brake and clutch "hanging", gas pedal floor-based ).
Software: The system is lacking any "profiler" software, which could assign different settings automatically to different games / simulation software.
Also, that advanced a wheel should have basic hardware adjustments (force feeedback, rotation) available directly from the wheel.
Overall - great product, perfect pricing and perfect service by B&H, we will be ordering soon again !

As a long time sim racer I have had many wheel and pedal sets that claim to be the best! This is near perfection for sim racing! If I could have this set in my personal car I would! As good as an ECCI wheel set if not better at half the price. Just keep out of reach of small children as it may remove body parts with the serious force feedback! If your looking for a high quality wheel set for your sim racing look no fruther!

My Logitech G25 wheel quit working (2nd one that broke)so I decided to purchase the Thrustmaster T500rs from B&H Photo. By the way, B&H Photo had the lowest price I could find. Very fast and prompt service also!! The T500rs wheel is a big improvement over the Logitech wheels that I have had. The extra expense of the T500rs is well worth the addition price.
