I bought this to add shooting time to my new Panasonic HC-X900M camcorder. I'm used to getting a tiny, short-life battery that is supplied with the camera, and having to always buy a long-life battery or two that end up being the main power supplies (the "gimme" battery stays in the bag for emergencies). So, I automatically bought this one, thinking that it would be a long-life battery -- it was listed in B&H's accessories listing to go with my camcorder. It turns out that it's identical to the supplied battery...both are very tiny compared to what I'm used to (note: I'm a professional videographer, so I'm used to 5 lb. Anton Bauer batteries; I've just in the last few years gotten used to the 3 oz. Panasonic batteries, and now these uber tiny 0.3 oz. batteries are unbelievably small [second note: I'm making up the weights]). So far, it charges quickly and powers the camera as it should.

Comments about Panasonic VW-VBN130 Battery Pack:
You will likely need a backup battery. I bought a generic (no longer offered but an alternative is). While it was rated at 1500 mAh (vs. this OEM's 1250), it lasts about half as long. So don't put total faith in these ratings.
I wised up and bought this OEM as a backup and know I can simply alternate between the one that came with the camera and this one. The only problem is what to do with the generic that sits in my bag as a reminder of a bad buying decision.
Sure, I would like this OEM to cost less, but what I got with the generic was half a battery at half the cost. No deal there.

Just got back from a two week vacation with three of these to power my new HC-X900M. I got roughly 90 minutes off of each battery with fairly draining use - lots of panning, zooming and turning the camcorder off and on a lot. That seems reasonable for the size and weight of the battery.

I bought several batteries VW-VBN260 (some cheap stores) for my PANASONIC HDC-HS700. But it lasts half of the time of this battery that I bought from B&H.
I bought so many things relate to my PANASONIC HDC-HS700 and CANON EOS 5D MARK II that I bought from B&H, and all of my orders delivered on time, brand new, and in excellent condition.
I absolutely recommend to buy from B&H as I did for so many things in many years

The Panasonic makes good batteries for their products that hold charges very well. They charge fairly quickly (usually about 2 hours for me) and give close to the same run time.

Comments about Panasonic VW-VBN130 Battery Pack:
This is a 1250ma OEM battery. Two of them cost less than one 2500ma battery. So, leave the VW-VBN260 on the shelf. The smaller VBN130 doesn't project out beyond the camera body, and it charges in half the time of the larger VBN260. It provides just under 2-hours of run time at the camera's AVCHD HD setting. Combine with Panasonic's 2-prong wall charger, ytou can charge one while using another.

Comments about Panasonic VW-VBN130 Battery Pack:
You just must have it as spare one because original battery has not enough capacity for longtime filming. It's better than 260 model because of the weight and recharge time.
