This product is a necessity for 4x5 photography and is a staple for my daughter who takes 4x5 primarily. Being a Kodak product, the quality is superb and we can always count on B&H to have it in stock.

Comments about Kodak 4 x 5" Portra 160 Color Film (10 Sheets):
With the demise of film in most new cameras, finding suitable products for professional work is becoming harder. Only the best can survive in such a market and Kodak Porta 160 for 4x5 is still available due to its superior properties. It must be the best film currently available for 4x5 colour photography. Rich beautiful skin tones unmatched by any digital counterpart. On the downside, it's becoming hard to find 50 packs making the less economical 10 pack the only option. Let's hope this film is available for years to come!

Comments about Kodak 4 x 5" Portra 160 Color Film (10 Sheets):
I've been shooting it at box speed and the results have been stellar. If you are looking for creamy skin tones, great scanability and amazing blues and greens, this is the film for you. Although Kodak says this is more like NC than VC in terms of saturation, from what I have seen its actually in between the two.
I just hope Kodak will continue to make this film for as long as I don't grow tired of carrying around 4x5 equipment.

Comments about Kodak 4 x 5" Portra 160 Color Film (10 Sheets):
I use Portra 160 to complement the Portra 400 and Ektar 100 that I also like to shoot. I shoot a lot of colour negative film.
Portra 160 has the very best rendition of human skin (any race), natural colours and textures and the brilliance of natural illumination -- especially bright and sunny scenes. I use it for studio work, landscape work and even for long exposure night cityscapes.
This last use is not its strongest suit. Portra 160 holds the colours together well on long exposures but reciprocity failure becomes quite strong as exposure times lengthen. For anything over a few minutes I would double the time you think you need as a starting point.

Comments about Kodak 4 x 5" Portra 160 Color Film (10 Sheets):
A film that I use constantly for its huge latitude and great color. It's a shame that Kodak has cancelled the VC/NC variations but I suppose this all can be fixed after scanning in Photoshop.

Since 4x5 film is getting limited, options are scarce, but Kodak's Portra is definitely the way to go for portraiture. Brilliant colors, brilliant results.

4x5 Portra 160 allows you to accurate render the world with detail and color accuracy beyond any medium I have ever used in photography. You get the detail and scale of 4x5 and the best tones and contrast available on film. In my opinion this is the best film stock for photography, period.

Comments about Kodak 4 x 5" Portra 160 Color Film (10 Sheets):
I'm a student, and this past semester I was required to use a 4x5 camera .im a digital person, so I had no idea what type of film to look into.in talking to my professors and research I've found portra is the best for what I am using my camera for. Which is studio shots with strobes as well as landscapes and long exposures for night settings. Portra is best for color balance which is portant in Any situation where you would like total control of what your image will look like.hope this helps!
