Comments about Lastolite 48" TriGrip Difflector:

This difflector gives gorgeous diffused ligt, especially in direct sunlight. After normal use wtih normal wear and tear, the handle will literally come apart in your hand. It's attatched with plastic screws which work themselves out over time. I continue to use them after applying my own modification with simply placing "lock ties" over the handle and tightening them down, cutting away the excess. You will need something like the mannfroto "super clamp" to keep it stable and high over the subject's head. If it's really windy, leave it at home. Don't buy the flimsy accessory clamp that lasolite offers.

Comments about Lastolite 48" TriGrip Difflector:

After years of using circular reflectors, I was happy to add the triangular difflector to my equipment. The handle makes it much easier to maneuver in all weather, and when used as a diffuser, allows it to be held higher. Like this large size, hwever it is not easy to fold it back up--it often takes me a few tries and the assistants struggle with it.

Comments about Lastolite 48" TriGrip Difflector:

Received my 48" and it's smaller brother today. They seem really nice and the 30" really is but the 48" needs to be re-designed. The spring steel is not strong enough to stay rigid and will dip at midpoint due to it's long sides. What this does is then cause the fabric to wrinkle and be slack. For its price and a item that claims to be professional I expected better. I will return for another but smaller one.

Comments about Lastolite 48" TriGrip Difflector:

I like the size, and that it can be used as a reflector or to shade the subject. It is NOT very rigid so any wind makes it impossible to hold with one hand and hard even with two as the frame isn't very rigid. Folding it seems more like luck when I figure it out then actually knowing how to fold it. Great concept, I use it, but not as good as it could be.

The reflector is just right. It adds light but no color. It's a nice soft light to enhance my subjects. Perfect combination of useful products!

Comments about Lastolite 48" TriGrip Difflector:

This a relatively new product from Lastolite, but seeing Mark Cleghorn's few videos , regarding this product, convinced me enough to purchase it.I love products that can be used in more than just a one way, therefore reducing a caring more products into the field. It is BIG, but if you work alone and need to bounce or diffuse a significant amount of light falling on laying down subject, you can just lean one against your body or tree or something else to achieve great results. It is not really convenient to hold the diflector in one hand while taking picture in the other, for that one would have to opt for a smaller 30 inch diflector. To be honest with you, I got scared for a while , before making a purchase , just because some reviews, stating that it is very difficult to fold this product back to the original shape and store it away. some people where saying , that everybody , who tries to purchase diflactor this large should REALLY think things trough, before opening...Well i decided to give it a try and buy it anyway,i figured , how hard could it be?Don,t be scared , it is NOT a Pandora's BOX!!!In fact , it took me less time to fold it , than smaller 30 " deflector.Well actually the same amount of time...about 3 seconds each...I don't want to be rough on the reviewers, but every time i read something ,that is NOT true, when simple things, become an almost impossible tasks for some , i loose faith in humanity...Don,t be afraid, buy it , you won,t regret it .One thing though, if you wont to use it outside on even calm day, on the support stand...bring a lot of sand bags..

Comments about Lastolite 48" TriGrip Difflector:

The light is very soft and subtle. I really like that when shooting on a digital sensor but it would prob not be ideal for film. This new hybrid pattern puts out less light then any tradition (gold,silver,sunfire..) reflectors so if you're not planning on using it as a diffuser much and just want a do all reflector you'll want to keep that in mind. That said, I love these Trigrips and this one makes a great addition to my kit.
