The Panasonic DVD-S68 DVD Player is a full-featured multi-format disc player with high performance audio and video processing. If you're looking to output high definition signals into your system using your collection of DVDs, this player can do the job. It upconverts to 1080p resolution progressively scanned for razor sharp imaging over HDMI. You'll experience a smoother, more realistic picture quality from interlaced sources. With support for HDMI 1.3 and Deep Color, it is compatible with an extended color space when used with a display and source materials that also support Deep Color.
This disc player can handle virtually any DVD and CD disc in your collection, as well as JPEG and MP3 files. Its front-panel USB port makes it convenient to pop in a USB memory drive for playback of music, photo and video files. You can even make MP3 recordings onto USB memory from your audio CDs. Additionally, you can show a JPEG slideshow with MP3 music playing to share your multimedia files with friends and family.
The DVD-S68 is also VIERA Link compatible, so if you have a Panasonic HDTV with VIERA Link you can control everything with a single remote for seamless integration. That also means no more pile of remotes to keep track of. This disc player features a slim design and measures in at just over an inch, so it will fit anywhere and blend with the rest of your setup.

Comments about Panasonic DVD-S68 DVD Player:
I bought 2 of these go go with lcd sets our grandchildren use when visiting. They are great - fit nicely into the stack of components and are very easy to set up and use - the kids have no problem managing thier own library of discs and viewing without help. We have had them for long enough to go through a couple of visits from the kinds and cannot find anything about them that is not great.

Comments about Panasonic DVD-S68 DVD Player:
My Panasonic player fits the bill perfectly. I bought it primarily for its front USB connection. I have never owned an iPod and frankly do not need to and never will thanks to this player. I can load my flash-drive with MP3 files and leave it plugged into the USB port. Then, after enjoying a DVD or two switch to my library (32G) of music on the flash-drive, set the timer and comfortably fall asleep. The HDMI connection is a definite plus! My Panasonic DVD-S68 player sits atop my prized Yamaha S1800 DVD player. Prized because of its Burr-Brown processing chip set. The power and open/close buttons on the Panasonic are positioned perfectly at opposite ends of the deck so you can operate it in the dark, by feel alone with no problems. Also, the loading tray opens quickly and to the left of my Yamaha so there is no interference whatsoever. I can have both trays open at the same time. Video quality is excellent too! The remote is handy. However, it would be better if it was lighted. RW ~ San Antonio, Tx

Comments about Panasonic DVD-S68 DVD Player:
The functionality and performance deserves 5 stars. The lack of an optical or coax digital audio out deserves 0 stars. All digital audio is output through the HDMI port which means that if you want your audio going to a home theater, your receiver better have an HDMI in and then output to your TV. I have an older receiver with no HDMI in and couldn't hook this up to my home theater. Luckily, I bought this because I needed a new DVD player in another room and didn't need to hook it up to my home theater.
