The black Lino Collection: Pro VII Roller from Manfrotto not only allows you to travel in a professional and organized manner but makes it pleasant along the way. This rolling case is designed for the journeyman who needs a durable, multi-featured case that can get you from A-B, while holding a ton of gear, safely and comfortably.

The combination nylon/leather exterior is water-repellent so there's no need to worry about walking from the parking lot to the airline terminal when the weather is wet. The treated leather also adds an additional measure of fashion to an already stylish and very functional case that only weighs 11 lb. Even the zippers have been specially treated to be water-protected. Above and beyond all this, Manfrotto has included a built-in, fold-out rain cover that protects the entire case - including your externally mounted tripod.

The two wheels provide ease of operation on ramps or while navigating through hallways while the retractable trolley handle provides a firm and ergonomically designed grip. However, if you just need to remove the case from the trunk of your car, there's a strong grab-handle for that job. For those big photo jobs where you'll need a tripod, no problem. The Pro VII Roller permits you to secure yours to the front of case using the included connectors. And, for table top tripods, there are storage pockets within the case to hold Manfrotto Pocket Tripods.

Inside the Pro VII, you'll find the case is just as engaging as its exterior. With room to hold two DSLR camera bodies, 6-8 lenses, flash and numerous accessories, there is also a really neat and removable 17" (43.2cm) laptop sleeve. But we'll talk more about that in a minute. The array of lenses you can take along will all be stored within their own spaces using the Pro VII's padded and interchangeable dividers. Depending on the job at hand, you have complete creative freedom to configure the interior to suit whatever equipment you are traveling with. There is a mesh organizer pocket for small items like filters, pens and business cards. However, Manfrotto didn't stop there. In the rear of the case, there's a cleverly designed zippered access pocket in which you can store cables, batteries, your iPhone, MP3 player - even personal stuff like tickets, passports and other forms of ID. Imagine the sheer pleasure of not having to stop and open the entire case where everyone around you can see the expensive equipment you're traveling with - just to retrieve your ticket. Simply, unzip the pocket, which I remind you, is in the rear of the case so no one can see inside, remove your personals and swiftly move through the checkpoint. Talk about convenience. Now, let's get back to that laptop sleeve.

Occasionally, you may want to do some work. The Pro VII Roller provides you with a unique and convenient way to fetch your computer. When you need the computer, zip the front lid down, pull out the sleeve, zip the case closed, sit down and do your work.            The sleeve is held in place by nylon straps and is complete with its own handle. For more peace of mind, there are Flexi Dividers that separate the computer from your photo gear and which provide a protective barrier preventing the two components from rubbing together. And should you not need the Flexis, such as when you're not traveling with your computer, just fold them out of the way.

Manfrotto's Pro VII Roller is well-named. It's a serious case for the serious shooter who is in it for the long haul and who doesn't want to have to buy a second case after that inexpensive first one falls apart.

Comments about Manfrotto Lino Collection: Pro VII Roller (Black):

I use this daily for location photography, and mostly I love it, however the zipper pull-tabs are junk (they are YKK, which I thought was good). They will break when you least expect it. Both of the tabs on the main compartment snapped, so I've replaced mine with key rings. Do yourself a favor and just pack a couple key rings in the bag for when the inevitable happens. Still glad I bought the bag, just disappointed in the zippers.

Comments about Manfrotto Lino Collection: Pro VII Roller (Black):

I own 60+ bags. I own all the top brands, Think Tank, Low Pro, Timbuck2, Eagle Creek, North Face, Crumpler etc. This is the worst bag I have ever purchased, and ironically one of the most expensive bags.

Yes, both zippers broke in 60 days. I can tell you, 100%, that if you use this bag on 5 jobs, the zippers will break.

But it gets worse, my bag was only 60 days old and Manfrotto questioned me on my usage. Customer service at Manfrotto is a joke. After 15 emails and 3 phone calls, they said they would "consider" replacing the bag if it was not scrathced. This is laughable.

Is this the way you treat professionals in the field who need to rely on a bag ?

The saddest part, is, I have never had a zipper break on any of my other bags. NEVER.

The only reason I give 2 stars, is because B&H was kind of enough to offer to take the bag back, even though the B&H rep told me that Manfrotto would not take it from them. I will keep the bag, I don't want B&H to have to suffer with this junk bag.

Seriously, don't purchase this bag, it will break and they will not give you professional service.

Comments about Manfrotto Lino Collection: Pro VII Roller (Black):

Overall this is a great camera bag. interior functions are great. Quick access to the laptop is good while travelling. My only problem with it is the zips, i now broken both of them trying to open the case itsself. Because of the waterproofing the zips are quite stiff and allot of force is needed to open the case, hence while shooting and trying to onpen the bag quickly the zips handles broke off. I have replaced them both using a make-shift keyring.

Comments about Manfrotto Lino Collection: Pro VII Roller (Black):

To start, I really appreciate a well made bag and always do my research to make sure that the bags I buy can meet my specifications (Keeping me highly organized on shoots; portable; carry on airplanes; durable; interior is fully customizable). Petrol bags failed me this time as they didn't produce the DSLR bag I was looking for. After attending NAB 2011 and testing out 6 different bags, it came down between the Pro VII Roller and Lowell Pro Runner x450 AW. The Pro VII Roller won out in that it had the 17" laptop compartment. Overall, it is a great bag and fits all of my lenses (Canon 24-70, 24-105, and 35, 5D, filters, audio accessories, matte box and a few other accessories. It gets the job done quite nicely and it is well built. It is great for traveling as well.

I would have gave it 5 stars, but the price is a little steep. All in all if you are a videographer or photographer in need of a great bag, this bag comes highly recommended.

I use the Manfrotto Pro VII roller gear organizer to travel : it fits perfectly in the over head compartment and gives me easy access to passport, boarding pass and ticket if needed. It is the size I need to handle 2 bodies, 6 lenses, flash, 4 batteries, 2 chargers, and the host of extras needed on a shoot. And it rolls ! Just what I was waiting for !
