I've been using this cable for only about 6 months to connect my blu-ray player to my stereo receiver. All of a sudden the cable just died. I tested the cable with different units and it didn't work, and I tested the receiver and blu-ray player with a different optical cable and it did work. I've never had a cable just die like this. I haven't moved anything around, so there is no reason this should be happening. Go for a different brand.

A great go between the older and newer A/V products. My receiver is getting on in age and does not have HDMI inputs so in order to get sound to it with modern players and TV's I am using optical audio cables. This one seems to be a great compromise between size and strength. A little more hefty than some of the cables I have tried yet not so large that it crowds other connections like one that I have.
