The Watson 4-Hour Rapid Charger with 4 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (1000mAh) is a charger coupled with 4 AAA-sized nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. The 4-Hour Rapid Charger will recharge 4 of the included batteries in about 200 min, or 2 in about 100 min. You can also use it to charge AAA NiCd batteries, or AA NiMH or NiCd's. The charger's integrated micro-controller ensures that each battery is charged to its full capacity, and automatic charge cut-off prevents overcharging. The charger also has circuit and polarity protection. Two LED indicators display charging status, and there are two individually-monitored charging channels. The charger has switching 100-240VAC power, enabling use all over the world. Its compact outlet prongs can fold in, making the unit more compact for storage.
The AAA NiMH batteries are great for portable devices such as digital cameras, MP3 players, toys, games, flashlights and more. They have a capacity of 1000mAh, significantly greater than that of standard nickel metal-cadmium (NiCd) batteries. They also have excellent high-drain performance and can be recharged up to 1000 times. The batteries are mercury- and cadmium-free.

Comments about Watson 4-Hour Rapid Charger with 4 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (1000mAh):
I bought this set of batteries and recharger to power a set of radio triggers and some flashes.
It charged up quickly (relative to other inexpensive chargers, and then I put in some different brand AAs I already had for my flashes. The Ansmann AAs charged up easily as well and lasted as long as I usually expect them to (which is a long time).
The Watson AAAs did not last as long, but I also used them in a new device so I had no refernce to compare them to. They did last about as long as the radio triggers said to expect in their directions.

Comments about Watson 4-Hour Rapid Charger with 4 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (1000mAh):
This item does not have a 'discharge button' or indicators that show the level of discharge as described in the instructions.
I would also like to know what it means when the red light blinks on and off. Does it mean my old batteries are no longer good?

Comments about Watson 4-Hour Rapid Charger with 4 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (1000mAh):
The batteries work, and take a charge when plugged into the charger for the time recommended. However, the charger itself has 2 non-working LEDs that are supposed to indicate charging status: flashing LEDs for charging and steady green for fully charged. The original unit sent by B+H had this problem as did the replacement unit they promptly sent fully postage paid. B+H has no fault in this - they rapidly responded to my call about the issue. This appears to be a manufacturing defect affecting more than just one charger.
Comments about Watson 4-Hour Rapid Charger with 4 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (1000mAh):
I've used this product for approximately a month and the batteries hold their power quite well. I would recommend this product.
Comments about Watson 4-Hour Rapid Charger with 4 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries (1000mAh):
I PARTICULARLY LIKE THE DESIGN WHERE YOU CAN CHARGE AAA OR AA WITH THE SAME CHARGER. IT IS ALSO AN ECOLOGICALLY SOUND IDEA TO BE ABLE TO RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES INSTEAD OF DISCARDING THEM.
