The bungee cord Veloce V Backpack from Manfrotto is a slightly smaller version of the Manfrotto Veloce VII backpack. If you can't get the shot with all the gear this bag holds, you're doing something wrong. It's rated to hold a DSLR with or without a grip and a 70-200 attached - and held in a shooting position - plus an additional 2-3 lenses, flash, small accessories; and if that isn't enough and a 15.4" (39.1 cm) laptop.

On the outside, the pack is made from rugged, water-resistant nylon. This is a shooter's pack - and the reason it is stems from the marvelous ability to access the main compartment from the top via the top zippered flap secured by a touch fastener. Isn't it wonderful knowing you can retrieve your camera (with lens attached) without having to open the entire bag? In the middle of a crowd, that's a real security bonus. Strap your tripod to the back with the included connections.

Inside the Veloce V, there are movable, touch fastened dividers that you can arrange to suit whatever gear you need to carry on a given day. The camera and 70-200 are held securely on a handy L Bracket that supports the body/lens combo in a face-down position. Open the top flap, remove the setup, get your shot, slip the combo back inside, reseal the flap and you're off to your next shot. In addition, the Veloce V has a protective, slip-in 15.4" laptop pocket. Stop for lunch, remove your computer, email your shots, make some notes, write a letter or work in Photoshop. Finished? Slip it back in its place, and, again, you're on your way. And, before you leave, access the organizer pocket where your iPhone, PDA, pens, business cards or other small items are stored.

As an added feature, if you don't want your tripod secured on the outside of the bag, you have the option to store it inside the bag, protected in its own section by the padded dividers. What a blessing when traveling. And speaking of tripods, there's an interesting and very functional integrated pocket that is perfect for fitting Manfrotto pocket series tripods.

The back straps are adjustable and comfortable making this an easy pack to tote around. At a very reasonable price, this backpack gives you all the benefits and features that make it appealing to anyone who spends time outside or who travels and needs a pack that can hold a world of gear securely and comfortably.

As a working professional photographer for over 30 years I have used and own several camera transport systems. You name it Lowepro, Kata, Tamrac, Think Tank, Mountainsmith, Delsey, Vanguard, Nat GEO, etc... and now Manfrotto. This backpack is well thought out and a great value. So trust me there will always be a few things with any backpack, shoulder bag or sling that could be better. I always wanted to design a line of bags myself :-)
Anyway this backpack is light, not overly padded (like Delsey) fairly customizable and well constructed. It stands on its own upright which is very important to me. Fits under jet seats too. I find that the few stationary dividers are fine because they are place to serve a specific equipment purpose. (DSLR's are pretty much the same in configuration). I like it holds a 70-200/2.8 mounted or unmounted. I like the quick access door where I keep a Olympus PEN. While this is not a super backwoods design I have managed to carry it for hours comfortably. It could use a chest cross strap, but I just added one for longer days. I use this mostly for around town gigs and on long distance travel. One thing I don't think anyone mentioned is it follows the design of the Lowe Pro Flipside. It is opened from the back, which is the real deal for me. Keeps equipment secure and your back clean. Doesn't look like the typical camera backpack. It holds allot and can get heavy. It's deep enough for a pro body or a gripped backup. Holds a carbon fiber tripod nicely. I prefer this backpack over my Kata OWL. Way better than the Delsey Pro's. It is my go to backpack now. Holds a Macbook Pro and plenty of room for 5-6 lens/2 bodies/Oly PEN/ flashes and batteries and a bunch more. I use this and my Think Tank Urban Diguise 50 most of the time. As for B&H...they rock!

    Great for the price

Comments about Veloce V Backpack (Bungee Cord):

Got this bag half off because I needed a bag that could carry my tripod. It does a great job handling a body and a couple lenses, though snug for my 60D with a 15-85 mm. Wish the dividers were more adjustable to help balance weight when loaded and wish it had loops for hanging gear from the straps. Love not having to worry about thieves getting in the bag while walking cities. Well built, solid pack for the money.

This bag is very useful and funcational for both DSLR and video gear. Throw a GOPRO in there too. I had to chuckle at the review who said there is no space for memory cards and batteries. HUH? There are compartments those can go or do like I do and use a small piuch. The bag is not that heavy, it is secure and feels great on my back. And at $ at B&H, it is over $ LESS than @! So glad I bought it, and even my monopod fits perfectly!

Comments about Veloce V Backpack (Bungee Cord):

I went travelling overseas with this, it's very good for the money. The back is fairly rigid and the straps are strong, the padding is good. I like how it stands up on its own. For me it's a bit of a pain that it opens from the back, but for some this could be an advantage. It's not really good for grabbing a quick shot while it's on your back, you have to put it down and open it all the way. there is a quick access pocket at the top, but it's not effective because there is a completely useless metal clip that gets in the way. I think I'll remove that. But even then my GH4 with a lens doesn't easily come out of the pocket. But if you are looking for a comfortable way to travel with a DSLR, several lenses and even a compact tripod, this is great for that.

Comments about Veloce V Backpack (Bungee Cord):

The inner compartments are great for camera bodies and lenses alike and they are semi-adjustable as well. It can accommodate non-photography related items as well which is fantastic for daily use. The quick pocket at the top is great since opening the bag itself can take up quite a bit of space.

My only concern is whether not regularly carrying a tripod or similarly shaped object will affect the shape of the bag on the top. Also, more pockets on the inside would be useful.

I bought this for my son - he chose it for the size and convenience of safely carrying all his camera equipment for a big overseas trip we are planning. So far he is very happy with it.

I took off one star because the new one we received after checkout was actually different from the display model that he chose - not substantially, but in a couple of key ways. The locations of external straps for things like tripods, and some areas which could be used to add additional straps were very different, as was the opening for storing the camera itself. He is fine with the differences, but I am a bit offput after we specifically chose this backpack based partly on these features. Unfortunately, we did not discover these differences until we were well away from the store, at which point my son said he was fine with it. It will do the job...

I was looking for a camera bag that carries more than the camera itself, and I found it with this bag. Not only does it have enough room for my Canon T2i with vertical grip and attached 24-70 lens, but also my other 2 lenses, flash, tripod, custom leather strap, lens filters, battery pack, and even my adventure point-and-shoot, and there is still lots of room for a laptop or iPad and much more. It's lightweight yet feels very durable as well.

Comments about Veloce V Backpack (Black):

I am a skateboard filmer, so I bought this backpack so I could easily transport my camera gear while riding my skateboard. The bag itself looks great. I use lots of equipment which all fits in this bag. I attach my camera handle through the clip on the side of the bag, and sometimes strap my tripod to the back with the straps. It's a little confusing to unzip at first due to the shoulder straps (they are placed in a way to prevent the bag from accidentally opening and spilling). My only cons with the bag are some of the inside liners are sewn in so you can't move them, and there are no horizontal chest straps to help distribute the weight while wearing. A great bag if you like to be outdoors with your camera.

Comments about Veloce V Backpack (Black):

I bought this bag for my husband and loves it. He's very paranoid about people stealing so I actually bought this not realizing the main zipper is actually facing your back. You have to take the backpack off to open the lid to access your gear. But what's also handy is a side zipper so that if you need your camera asap, you open that up and just pull your camera out. There are several other pockets in the inside as well. Another good thing is how the backpack has a shell almost so you can't easily squish it.

i just bought this backpack. the vii was too big for my needs, and this bag is a good size even if youre still buying camera gear and lenses. i have a nikon d5100 and three lenses and theres still room in this bag. only problem is that it doesnt have a buckle across the chest that connects the two shoulder straps like alot of other backpacks. but i went on a website for hiking gear and bought one for 5 dollars. i plan on using this backpack and keeping my camera in the top buckled compartment for easy access, and even with a zoom lens on it fits in there no problem

This was a great buy. The build fantastic.
everything. I own a massive 400mm lens and it fits without a problem with plenty of room to spare.

Also, This won't fit a regular 15.4 inch laptop easily. I was able to fit one but it was a tight fit. If you have mac book 15" then you're good.

Also, the picture on the product listing seems to be of an older version the "Veloce V" newer version (that was SHIPPIED) looks slightly different check it out on Manfrotto site.

Also unlike the Agile series from Monfrotto this is NOT for the shooter who want's to shoot on the go. It is rather built to carry equipment while travelling.(like a primary camera bag)

                              4 stars because I couldn't fit my 15.4" laptop.

This is a great bag for a first bag. It serves its purpose for sure but really seems to work well with the Sony Alpha cameras with ANY lens attached. A great grab and go bag. Furthermore, B&H is a great place for all my purchases.

I'm an entry level photographer using this backpack for my DSLR and it fits perfectly my 55-200, 18-55, 35, and 85mm lens. It has space to fit a notebook, pens, tripod, and flash as well. I would recommend this to someone who is planning on building up their lens collection.

It's a great bag that has a lot of space. I was looking for something that would easily carry all of my photography gear, but that was safe as well for traveling. The only negative thing I have to say about the bag is there aren't many pouches inside of it. There's one or two, but they aren't big enough to hold my extra memory cards and my flash batteries. Otherwise, it's a great bag!

In addition it will balance on end, has a nifty easy access top pocket for point and click cameras, sunglasses and other small items. The pockets on the inside do not move around bur are flexible. There is even a pocket for a small tripod or a large lens. Great bag.
