Adding this CD player to my current collection of Yamaha components....DVD player DVD-S540 and A/V Receiver RX-V673. The quality of Yamaha A/V components is at the top of the line for me.

Comments about Yamaha CD-C600 5-Disc CD Changer:
This is actually a recent replacement for my first one which had too many problems to list here. So it's too early to tell how this one will functionally perform in the long run. I'll assume for the sake of this review that the first one was a lemon and this one will be fine. The sound quality is great. I have heard sounds on my cd's that I've never heard before. But I feel the design needs improvement. Loading the two back discs is a pain. I would rather spend a few extra bucks for a carousel tray that operated smoothly. I normally load up 5 discs and use random play. So not having a random button on the unit itself is an inconvenience and an oversight in my opinion. But once you're all loaded up and jammin' away, you can't beat the sound.

The only complaint I have is that it advertises to be iPod compatible...you just don't know which ones until you buy it. And Yamaha does not know that it will support anything passed the brochure print date...so I had to go out and buy a new iPod and try it to find out that it (Gen 7) works. Seems odd. However, the best part is the quality of the music...I would recommend this player. I'm giving it 5 stars because everything else is GREAT. I just hope it lasts longer than my Denon.

For a pro level CD player it is inexcusable not supporting iPod Lossless and AIFF. The analog output is great. Especially on CD's digitized and remastered from records or tapes.

We have had Yamaha products for many years and have always been satisfied. We had our last CD changer for 14 years without any problems.
The only thing that I have a problem with is that I live in Canada and bought this product from the US and I am not able to register it with Yamaha for my warranty.

I was looking for a CD only unit as I have system at home that is just for music. I don't use my home theater for music. After much research, I settled on this unit and I am not disappointed. The sound quality is excellent! You can easily hear the difference between using your Ipod and listening to a CD. I love everything about it. The one exception is the lack of Random being on the unit itself. You have to use the remote for that feature. This is a great product!

After listening to a JVC DVD player as my main CD player for several years (Which had a good sound). I decided to purchase a replacement. This player has a distictive sound. Bass is a bit more forward. And midrange is more pronounced. IE: acoustic guitar sounds more up front. High frequency is crisp. None of these atributes are a negative. Just different from my old player. It is a pleasure to listen to. And super easy to set up and opperate. The sound is very good!

hello,I want to let you know how much I love this unit. All of my music has never sounded so good. I am hearing things in all my music that I have never heard before. It really is a marvelous piece of equipmentThat being said I am having one small problem. I wanted to wait until it happened a few times before I got in touch with you. The remote is intermittent. I think it is a bad contact in the remote. The only time it gives me trouble is when I use it for the first time that day. It will not wake the unit up. I have to tap it on the table to get it to work. Seems to me that it is probably a battery contact thing. Once I get it to work it will work fine the rest of the day. I have tried different batteries but to no avail. I don't want to wait until I have to start bashing in on the table to get it to work so I thought I would get in touch with you now. Thank you for your time and effort.Sincerely,Richard G. Pappasrich5443[@] is my e mail address
