Am using to digitise negatives and prints. Is easy to use, if a little slow to capture the image; however, some of the slow speed comes from the MagicTouch software, which does a first-pass image clean-up and colour correction. Image quality from negatives is pretty good, and not bad from photoes. A higher image quality capture for photos (more than 400dpi) and more colour depth (greater than 24 bit) for negatives would be nice. The ability to review the picture before finalising the capture is really useful.

I am using this to scan in old 35mm Film and Slides. It's light and I like the fact that it doesn't require an external power supply. However, it's slow and it has a hard time communicating with my computer (rMBP, 10.8.2) ... looses connection and you have to unplug and restart the process. I'm not in love with the quality of the scans...but as I said, you get what you pay for.

Comments about Pacific Image ImageBox Plus CMOS Scanner:

I use this product to convert my collection of film/slides to digital format. The software/drivers were easy to install. The time to unpack the unit and conduct my first scan was less than I expected. Film/slide cartridge allows for efficient scanning. Acceptable image quality from slides or film, but as others have noted, not for detailed work. Overall I am pleased with this product.

Comments about Pacific Image ImageBox Plus CMOS Scanner:

I found the slide and print scanner easy to use for converting color slides to digital format. The soft ware to edit the scanned image is limited to nine choices of color correction and it's settings are inflexible. Importing the scanned image into your computer and using your favorite editing program gets better results than the included program.
The reasonable price for the scanner is because it is fed manually by the user and the resolution quality is good for doing family photos.

I purchased this device to digitize hundreds of 35 mm transparencies that have been in my basement for well over a decade. It's very easy to use. It doesn't take up a lot of space. It's versatile. When I finish with the 35 mm's I'm going to continue with my photo albums and photo negatives.

I have only used it a minimal amount at this time. It seem to be quite fast and easy to use and the quality seems fine. I had a little trouble getting it installed -- I am not sure why, but it got resolved. You should be aware that this scanner gets its power from the USB cable, so if you have a computer with only USB hubs and have other high power accessories connected, there could be a problem. The entire unit is a little larger than I expected, but that is not a problem.

that I purchased the ImageBox, it is absolutely brilliant, easy to use, an abundance of options given before saving an image which is just great if you are short on imaging software. I am putting together a website of all of past work, I had a stack of 35mm film and slides. I am whittling my way through them quickly. Great little TOOL especially for the price.
