The Canon WP-DC41 Waterproof Case for PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Camera allows you to take your camera as deep as 130' underwater. Document your tropical vacation's scuba expedition, explore the coral reefs – or just capture your kids' antics beneath the surface in the backyard pool.
The polycarbonate WP-DC41 case is specifically designed to house the PowerShot ELPH 300 HS, and it includes a wrist strap so you don't lose the camera to the bottomless depths. The diffuser softens the built-in flash of the ELPH 300 HS to reduce the presence of illuminated tiny particles ("back scatter") within your underwater shots.
An O-ring is installed and silicone grease is included to ensure a proper seal. The housing is rated IPX8 ("ingress protection"), meaning that it can be immersed completely in water. It's also rated IP6X to ensure that no sand or dust will breach the casing, either.

I used this case two times now, once in the pool and once while diving in the Caribbean. I was very nervous at first but this case was perfect and did not disappoint in any way. It's easy to set up and take apart, is lightweight, overall an amazing case.

Comments about Canon WP-DC41 Waterproof Case for PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Camera:
Just got it. I have yet to try it during a dive, however I have tried it at the beach while playing in the surf. Kept the camera dry, and video/pics were very clear before and after being submerged. Water in Daytona is not clear (sandy/silty) so I cannot comment on underwater use...but i am assuming it will perform well. Will be using next month in freshwater during wreck dives...

Comments about Canon WP-DC41 Waterproof Case for PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Camera:
Can't say that I have actually submerged this camera housing yet, but I have had good success with branded housings before. Seems well made, single port, double o-ring. And very slim profile to fit the Elph camera well. Fits in the hand nicely.
Pleased with the purchase, and, as always, the excellent customer service of B&H.

Comments about Canon WP-DC41 Waterproof Case for PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Camera:
I recently purchased this housing along with the ELPH 300HS. The camera was the most advanced to use the NB-4L battery, in which I already had substantial investment. I have been toying with purchase of dedicated Nikonos RS body and lenses but for the kind of pics and diving that I do (recreational/vacation only) the RS seems like overkill. I wanted something that had the ability to make good images yet easy to use, especially easy to change out memory cards and load for use even after having a few beers. A similar scenario resulted in the demise of a Nikonos V camera in the past. This DC41 housing has only one o-ring, on the rectangular back, easy to access, simple to clean and reinstall. Take my advice-be sure to clean the ring EVERY TIME you open the housing, or else run the risk of a grain of sand in the wrong place causing your fancy camera to go swimming in the sea. The best part of this housing is, unlike some, all of the buttons are accessible. You lose no funtionality due to lack of access to the controls. The worst part of this housing is the automatic forced Underwater mode, which so far I have not been able to defeat. Another trip through the manual may help, we'll see. If you are looking for a simple digital setup for underwater use, this combo will save you a ton of money and be easy to use, all at the same time.

Comments about Canon WP-DC41 Waterproof Case for PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Camera:
The results with this case and the Canon 300HS are spectacular. It was used with the camera set to flash off and ISO=800 and the results are great even in 60ft of water. It was recently used on a trip to the caribbean with both snorkeling and scuba. The case is also quite simple, no genius is needed. The booklet can be thrown away as it mostly contains ridiculous warnings and the like. Its small size also is a plus, it can easily be put in the luggage without hesitation unlike a SLR housing. Don't let the price scare you way it is well worth it.

I just updated my camera/underwater housing from my old PowerShot A640 to an Elph 300. I loved the old housing, but the WP-DC41 is more amazing! I can get closer to subjects under water.

Comments about Canon WP-DC41 Waterproof Case for PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Camera:
Very pleased with the prompt service from B&H. The case seems to be in perfect working condition. It's very solid, yet lightweight, and easy to use. It automatically places the camera into underwater shooting mode when the camera is placed in the case. I've only tested the product for leaks in the sink and so far it seems to be in fine working order. This is a slick case that is not as bulky as expected and feels very robust. I recommend it.

True, there are a few features that you cannot access on the camera while in the case, but this case fits the camera so well and the buttons work so much better than the Ikelite I don't really care about not being able to access the self-timer and other little things.

While probably somewhat bigger than i expected, it's a very well-built case. The camera automatically switches into underwater mode when the case is closed and the camera is turned on. Nicely thought out flash diffuser helps in using the flash underwater.

First a note about BHPhotoVideo: I initially ordered the wrong case, and had to return it and get the correct case. No Problem!! I had the correct case [...] and I was able to bring it with me on vacation. Now, let it be known that I am NOT a professional photographer-nor do I aspire to be one. I just wanted a camera with a longer zoom and with some ability to make easy adjustment, if I want to, to ISO numbers, and this camera has it all-and more. It is very easy to use. Now, to the case itself: There is a rubberized cord seal that has to be removed, greased, and replaced each time the case is used. It sounds hard, but I found that, by waiting for the case to dry naturally after use, it is simple to brush off any sand, or other material that may have attached to the outside of the case. Then, after opening, a simple wipe down of the sealing band and the inside and edges of the case, and a spot of clean grease around the band, kept it ready to goI've used the case for underwater photography in a swimming pool and in the ocean. I also allowed my grandchildren to use it, and they (12-17 years) had absolutely no problems with it.The camera is a perfect fit for the case, and every control on the actual camera finds its mate on the case. The lanyards (There are three of them, including the one that came with the camera itself) are easily installed, and they are well positioned. The only issue I have with them is that they have to be removed and replaced as the camera is adapted for different uses: Normal, beach, and underwater use.The case has a wide lens that allows for great picture taking. However, the viewer in the rear of the camera is very difficult to use under glare conditions-like on the beach, and in shallow water where there is a lot of reflection from the sun-because it must be viewed through the plastic of the case. However, with a little extra maneuvering I was able to get successful photos. All of the pictures I took were within 5 feet of the of the target, and I made no effort to test anything further away than that. I am very happy with this case, and definitely recommend it.

Comments about Canon WP-DC41 Waterproof Case for PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Camera:
I dive 2-3 times a year and wanted to have underwater pictures. I choosed this caméra-housing duo to get a good "on ground" point and shoot and in water compact housing that can easily fit in the pocket of a BCD. I was not disappointed !
Pros:
1. this duo takes very good pictures (ground and underwater)
2. Compact
3. Camera has a wide angle that permits to be nearer of the objects, limiting the amount of water between and thus giving more colors.
4. Camera has a 5x zoom, amazing for the size of the camera.
Cons:
1. Sometimes the zoom level does not work in the housing. You have to be careful at insertion time to engage the level precisely.
2. Some of the camera buttons are not accessible through the housing but you can do almost everything combining the accessible ones.

In conjunction with the Elph 300 HS, this is a great underwater setup for both stills and video. I used to shoot an Underwater SLR, gave it up because I hated carrying an extra piece of luggage. This setup offers good quality in a small package.

I used the case for my scuba diving in Southern California. It worked great in the deep salt water. The water-tight seal worked great and kept everything out that it was supposed to. The cleanup procedure and maintanance is tedious at times, but otherwise it works great for the price
