we bought this for a tail gate party at the race. its sound is plenty loud enough for that atmosphere. at max volume it does distort somewhat.

I use this for my outdoor patio parties and the sound is great, lots of power just like my home stereo system. The Base is very powerful and the other speakers balance out the highs and midrange quite well. I like that my Ipod is enclosed and wont get damaged. The pre-set EQ settings are OK but I would prefer complete manual control. I wish the remote had more control over the Ipod and if the Ipod stayed lit all the time so I can see what song is playing.

I've owned Kaboom for several months. I use it frequently alongside volleyball on grass and beach. Included shoulder strap handy. Protects iPod nicely. Good controls. A bit bulky, as expected. Finish mars easily in car trunk, as expected. More than enough volume, although it delivers only moderate bass for my taste, as expected. Good sound quality. For me a problem is that it requires 10 D cell batteries, and I'd usually need to carry an extra set of 10 with me. Throwing away used-up batteries not good for environment. 20 NiCad D batteries plus chargers would run $200. Instead I use a 20Ah 12V gel battery (15 lb) which I charge with a 15A smart charger. Supplies about 20 hours continuously. Made my own cigarette lighter cord using plug 693-4840. Carry extra fuses with me.

As an audiophile and electronics retailer, I know when I see a good product: this is. The sound is impressive both in volume and quality. The bass can get a bit muddy at higher volumes with the bass turned all the way up; but there is a dial on the top that makes it very easy to fix this problem. Also, this thing has just about everything: Mic input that can also be used for electric guitars, Aux Input, and a video output for the ipod dock. It also has the features that you would expect from all boom boxes. Bottom Line Great Product for the money, And a great product over all.

I bought this unit at Boxing Day. Never used it until now as I started working in the backyard. Disappointed to find out that there is no AM accessibility. I love 740 and 1150 AM stations for the old music. I don't know if I can exchange it or return it. I have the old kaboom and it no longer works but it was very powerful and there was AM accessibility.

I'm a 65 year old woman who never was drawn to boom boxes, but I am totally thrilled and appreciative of this JVC Kaboom. I searched every nook and cranny on the web for a portable CD player that had decent sound and was continually disappointed until I got this Kaboom and the quality of construction and sound is stunning. I am beyond pleased. Even though it has many other great features, I was really looking for a really good portable CD player before you can't find them at all.

I use the kaboom for audio in exercise classes that I lead. The sound easily fills the room, including elementary gymnasiums. This is one of the few boom boxes that provide input from both CD media and apple products. I could only give four stars because the kaboom is bulky to carry to and from classes. If it did not need to be regularly portable I would rate it at five stars.

I use this boom box as an audio refrecence while recording video clips on Havana and yes is heavy but at the same time so loud ( with no distortion ) that the singer can stay on track beside the street noise on the city.

You can not go wrong with this product, the sound is clear and crispy, the bass is great and enhances the music I like. I bought a microphone, and know I can sing along with the music I play. Hopefully for the next generation, they include the HD radio.

Husband uses it to sing at various functions instead of a much larger system with head, c/dpayer or computer and speakers. It delivers a great sound and is easy to use in case I can't be there to do music for him. Just wished there was a way to control mic volume and some reverb would be great also. Price was very reasonable for what you get.
Have not found anything major against recommending someone else purchasing it. We do not have an ipod, so that is wasted on us, but available if we desire to go that way in future.

Did some checking around and decided to buy JVC latest boombox. I am impressed how this radio looks and this thing can put out some serious sound! No problems when using with a 2nd generation iPpod/iTouch and can be controlled by a remote that comes with this system. My 16 year old uses it to teach her Zumba class and everyone enjoys the beat and sound. Bit pricey but, in overall, I am happy with my purchase.
