Comments about Vanguard Espod AM-263 Aluminum Monopod With Tilt Head:
I've used this Espod AM-263 monopod with C-12 Quick Release Clamp, primary for my ES 500 4.0L/MK5d II combo (that's about 5+ kilo plus flash weight). The main bonus of this monopod is its sturdy metal-made ball head that only tilts back and forth but not sideways (and that's a plus). I did remove a rubber pad from the head foot to allow the screw go deeper into the clamp, so it sits about 2/3 deep in the opening. And I also used some glue so the whole setup does not loosen. I've spent 3 months with this combo taking picture of birds, and have to confirm that:1. Espod AM-263 monopod + C-12 Quick Release Clamp (little mod + glue) works well with my 5+ kilo gear;2. The clamp did not get loose over that time;3. The monopod barely noticeable while sitting on my belt when I don't use it;4. My tripod usage dropped significantly.
