The view is astounding and the handling is superb - glassing through the EL 10x50 SwaroVision Binocular from Swarovski brings the cutting edge of optical performance to a new level. While the original EL series set the benchmark for clarity, color accuracy, and handling comfort, the EL SwaroVision binoculars raise the performance bar even higher.

The optical system has been enhanced with all of Swarovski's HD optics with their legendary performance-enhancing multilayer lens coatings. The optical path is enhanced even further with the addition of field flattener lenses. These field flatteners ensure an edge-to-edge sharpness and clarity that's free of distortion and other distractions.

Keeping pace with the optical train, the EL SV's construction also benefits from some advanced fine-tuning. The EL's open-bridge design provides viewers with long-term viewing comfort, enhanced stability, and ease of handling. The housing is covered with a rubberized finish that offers a secure tactile grip and a bit of shock resistance. Stellar all-climate performance is ensured via nitrogen purging. The rugged magnesium housing is sealed and purged to create a watertight and fogproof internal system - one that's impervious to dynamic climates and difficult conditions.

A wide angle field of view and truly noteworthy eye relief contribute to this fine sporting optic's viewing performance. Even when wearing glasses, the view remains unobstructed, free from vignetting, and lush with crisp detail.

Comments about Swarovski EL 10x50 SwaroVision Binocular:

I use the product for wildlife watching, under severe weather, dust and wind. The binoculars are sharp in low light, tough, and easy to use. They feel great in my hands, with great image quality.
The only "complaint" is the price, but you are paying for the best.

Comments about Swarovski EL 10x50 SwaroVision Binocular:

I had used a mid-grade 10x35 for a number of years as more of a bird photographer than a birder. The new 10x50 EL are a great improvement. I can now spot interesting species much more readily. They have a nice field of view, show vibrant colors, and focus very quickly. They work well with my glasses or without. The only tricky part was figuring out how to attach the carrying strap, which is very comfortable.

Comments about Swarovski EL 10x50 SwaroVision Binocular:

I am not a professional; but, over these last 3 years of My very intensive research project I have become very informed as to which binoculars are probably the "Top of the Best" at the present time. There are only a few top contenders. It is My informed opinion, there are none of the others who can beat Swarovski's Swarovision, no matter what the power of the Swarovision. A further expansion of that would be My experience of the relatively new EL 50mms. I've looked through many dozens of different binoculars in as many different situations as I was possiblly able to manage and even though some of the other manufacturers may be close, none matched the view of these Swarovision EL 10 by 50. Right from My very first moment when I put them to My eyes and felt their great feel in My hands, I knew My search was over. I have no trouble justifying these to be the very best binoculars I have ever looked through in My life and there's little doubt in My mind that these probably are the best in the World to date. The view is so fantastic with it's unbelievably flat, crystal clear, and great depth of field that I can't even imagine how any binocular's optical quality could surpass the Swarovision EL 10 by 50. I absolutely love the close focus, it's as though You are looking at a subject through a microscope. I was a bit concerned about trying to use the 10 power; but, soon discovered that 10 power was no problem at all, particularly when the observed image is at a normal range like 50 yards and closer. Out a great distance there is a bit of not concernable jiggle. I'm was thinking that there's a good chance that the 12 power Els would also not be a problem. I would not want to go any higher in power unless I made use of a tripod. If one really wants to reach out to some very far distance, They would probably be bracing the binoculars against something or viewing with a tripod no matter what power They were using. The point is that You now have options and You have the optical power to do whatever You wish. The decision has to be made by the individual as to the value of slight reduction in exit pupil and width of field. I have not noticed any reduction in light gathering in dim light. These EL 10 by 50s seem as bright as bright or brighter than any others I've seen. To Me, I find the higher power very useful and I'm willing to get used to the other possible and small negatives. I feel the high cost of the Swarovisions is really not the issue here either, as I feel the consumer would not be looking for the best if They were not prepared to pay for the best. The only other issue might be the weight. Good, and high density glass is by its nature heavy. That's just the fact of the material which must be used. The barrels are full of glass with 12 element on each side. All that can be physically done to lighten the binoculars is to lighten the chassis and that's been done by Swarovski with the use of magnesium for the barrels and titanium for the hinges. I like every other single thing about these binoculars They come in a very nice looking and tight sealing zipper case; and, yes, I even like the long neck strap. The resulting "tails"after My personal adjustment was to Me a very small issue. If You find that bothers You, I suggest that You engineer yourself a set of keepers (which I did in about five minutes) to hold the tails alongside the strap and then go on to enjoy the best view You' probably ever seen through binoculars. I enjoyed very much the engineering that went into the neck strap adjustment mechanism. It's a true well thought out work of art. The only suggestion I might offer Swarovski is to consider either exchanging the lens cleaning micro cloth which they include in the case for a good quality bulb type air blower (I very much like the medium or large size Giottos, availble from B and H), or include a bulb blower along with that lens cleaning micro cloth. The effort should always be made not to touch the lenses with anything unless absolutely necessary; but, blow the lenses everytime with a bulb type air blower before the binoculars are put away. Please, don't shortchange Yourself by breathing on those lenses no matter what You read suggesting that procedure is OK. The included cloth is an open invitation to touch those fine optical lenses. I discovered that even the large size Giottos bulb blower has a nice adequate amount of space right in the case beside the binoculars. You just won't believe what You've been missing seeing with whatever else You've been using. I would ask You to please not allow Yourself to get bogged down in the small negative stuff You might read about these ELs and continue to enjoy the best binoculars on Earth. This is absolutely a top shelf equipment and a true engineering marvel in Our time. You will never be sorry You bought these and thank yourself every time You take them out of the case and hold them in Your hands. I have absolutely no trouble adding here that You'll not find a better group of folks to deal with than the folks at B and H. Every concern and wish or question I have ever had from many purchases I made has been taken care of and taken care of immediately. Their concern has aways been felt to be about My Own personal satisfaction. Thanks B and H. Thanks a lot!

Comments about Swarovski EL 10x50 SwaroVision Binocular:

These binoculars are exceptional. They are light, with buttery smooth focus, and an image that is bright, sharp and without color cast. (Look at a sheet of well-lit photo paper or other white paper backwards through binoculars and you can compare how accurate a binocular transmits color.) Eye relief is long. Flare and coma are well controlled.

A person with normal financial resources (like me) will think its crazy to pay this much for a set of binoculars. And it is. They are merely incrementally better than any pair half the price. But it's that increment that is the source of significant joy of ownership. Once you bite the bullet they will be a joy to own and use for life, and then hand them down to the next generation of bird watcher or astronomer, sport fan, hunter, etc.

They are the best there is. If you can scrape together the price you won't be disappointed. After the price pain is gone the quality lives on.

For years I was dissuaded from ordering 10 power binos--- I couldn't possibly hold them still enough for them to be useful. On a recent birding trip I had the opportunity to use the EL 10 x 50 and the owner convinced me that shaking ( distortion)would not be a problem. Exquisite they are---I now see colors previously unseen in the deeper shade, details of tail shape, eyerings and "booties"!The clarity is stunning--- it is better than being there!
