Product Highlights
  • Absorbs Ultraviolet Light
  • Reduces Bluish Cast of Daylight
  • General Protective Filter
  • T* Anti-Reflective Coating
  • Slim Profile Filter Ring
  • High Quality Glass Construction

The 67mm Carl Zeiss T* UV Filter from Zeiss is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast effects are provided, rendering a clean and natural appearance.

A UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

The T* anti-reflective coating helps to reduce reflections on the filter's surface and promote a better light transmission for high quality imagery. The filter ring is designed with a slim profile to allow its use on wide angle lenses, but front filter threads are still available for the use of additional filters.

Comments about 67mm Carl Zeiss T* UV Filter:

If you debating between this filter and the B+W, here are your considerations. Zeiss filter is double the cost. It is optically comparable to the B+W; I did not perform tests; I don't know whether it is optically better than B+W but it is definitely not worse. The mount is machined aluminum but screws on/off the lens much smoother than a typical B+W brass mount -- likely because of the high precision machining. The Zeiss mount has a wider brim (about 1mm) than the B+W and I question whether it could have an effect on vignetting on non-Zeiss lenses. Of course, if you have a Zeiss lens then it won't be an issue. After all this filter was designed by Zeiss for Zeiss lenses. I have found the B+W MRC coating to be superior in hardness and ease of cleaning. My Zeiss filter suffered an easy accidental scratch by my lens cap; and fingerprints were noticeably harder to wipe clean without special lens cleaning solution. My B+W filter did not have such issues. If you have a Zeiss lens, buy the Zeiss filter and be content knowing that you have given your lens the best you possibly could. If you are considering a filter for non-Zeiss lenses, save your money and purchase the German built B+W MRC or XS-Pro Nano, knowing that you have also offered the best optics for your lens. But don't buy the nano for your Zeiss lens because the mount will prevent you from attaching the lens hood. You can't really go wrong with either brand. I have been happy with both brands. Good luck and have fun with your lens.

Comments about 67mm Carl Zeiss T* UV Filter:

Purchased to use on my Zeiss ZF lens. Wanted a very high qualiy filter -- both in glass and in construction -- to use when necessary over the expensive lens. I use this one with confidence of no compromise in image quality. Expensive, but glad I bought it.

Comments about 67mm Carl Zeiss T* UV Filter:

The Zeiss Touit 12mm lens can be vulnerable to dirt and scratches. For that reason, I believed it essential to get a UV filter to protect it at all times. I saw a customer review recommending the Zeiss 67mm filter, but I hesitated because the price was so much higher than for the Hoya I would ordinary buy. However, the Zeiss lens itself is such a considerable investment that I decided that it deserved protective Zeiss glass as well. I'm very happy with this filter as it doesn't degrade my image quality in any way and my Touit lens is always shielded.

General purpose filter that is retained on my 100/2 Zf.2 at all times unless other filter needed for special situations. Excellent clarity, strong construction, no concerns. Would recommend Zeiss filter for your Zeiss lens. I see no reason spend $$$ on a great lens and then put any other filter in front of your glass??

This is the best UV filter I've used. I put it on my Zeiss ZE 50/2 Makro (which has a very recessed front element), and the filter is practically invisible. It's really hard to get it to show up in the image, if kept clean.

I keep this filter all the time on my Zeiss 50mm f.20 macro. It protects the expensive glass and does not seem to destruct the images. When you shoot with Zeiss, there is apparently a reason, the legendary quality of Ziess glass producing stunning images. So you don't want to add anything between the Zeiss lens and the subject if you want the quality, unless it is another Zeiss! Filters' glass looks very thin and good quality. You can put lens' cup on without problem. So far (used for a week) have not found any problem with it.

Comments about 67mm Carl Zeiss T* UV Filter:

While perhaps it is not mandatory to put a UV filter in front of a lens, I prefer doing so since I usually shoot in difficult environments where salt water, steam, sand and rock debris are the norm. These new filters by Zeiss are very well built, the y thread nicely onto the lens thread.

I also use the filters as a replacement of the lens cap. This saves me time from opening up the lens cap and fumbling with it, finding a place to store it or putting it in my pocket. With the filter the front element is always protected and I don't have to worry about the caps missing or getting in the way.

Optically I see no detriment in picture quality and the T* coating does a very good job minimizing reflections. It also does not create any new ones from light that shines off the lens font element back onto the filter. They are not inexpensive, but I think it is worth paying a few extra bucks.

Perfect match for my Zeiss f/2 Makro Planer T*.

With Zeiss glass most photographers are looking for sharp focus, great contrast and wonderful color rendition... Why then do you need a filter in front of such superb optics?

Hiking, a day at a theme park, the desert sand or beach mist can all mess up your lens permanently... It's at these times that I use a UV filter. Even though I'm adding another layer of glass with possible reflections and a slight lack of contrast...

The Zeiss AR coating appears to be as excellent as the lenses. I'd say that it looks better to me than my B+W or Hoya filters on other lenses...

I'm going to buy another Zeiss T* filter in 58mm for my Distagon 35mm!

Comments about 67mm Carl Zeiss T* UV Filter:

I' use many Hasselblad 500CM 503CW 202FA, 203FE with CARL ZEISS lens 50mm 60mm 80mm 120mm 150mm 180mm 250mm 350mm in 1987. The CARL ZEISS and the Hass let me and my customer happy with the picture.
Now I' use Hasselblad H3DII with the 80mm, 210mm lens. I' need CARL ZEISS filter for cover the lens and kip the hi quality.

Comments about 67mm Carl Zeiss T* UV Filter:

I use this on my new Zeiss 50mm f2.0 Macro. I put it on before I tried the new lens. I was totally gobsmacked with the lens! About the same time, I also purchased the Zeiss 35mm f1.4 lens. And a pro B+W UV filter for it. I was never especially satisified with the 35mm, until I removed the non-Zeiss UV and shot bare. (You can do it!). Wow! So, I ordered the 72mm T* UV for my 35mm. Now I am much happier. Sorry I can't make any quantitative comparisons, but, I just feel like these UV filters match up much better with the Zeiss lenses.
