If you have the time to masterfully delve into preparing the camera movements of your next project, and then shooting dozens of flawless movements that make your point more than words do, then.....

The Cinevate Inc 35" Atlas 10 LTS DSLR Slider W/ All-Terrain Legs is a 35" mini-dolly accompanied by add-on, adjustable all-terrain legs. The Atlas 10 itself is designed with a ball bearing system that very smoothly slides a DSLR rig of up to 40 lb in any possible direction -- sideways, forward, backward, up, down, panoramically, and at angles. It can very effectively also be used as a crane when attached to a tripod, and can optionally be transformed into a counter-balanced vertical pulley system. With a non-reflective, black satin anodized finish, and full CNC aluminum and steel construction, the Atlas 10 is a beautiful, tightly designed, and lighter, quicker-to-set-up, more affordable version of the Atlas 30 and Atlas 200.

On a basic level, with a DSLR mounted atop it, the Atlas 10 can simply be placed on any flat surface, in an east/west or north/south setup, or at angles, such as at 190° instead of 180°, and you can then track right or left, close in or pull back, or play with angles to even further magnify the telling of your story. You can also stand the Atlas up erect and vertically slide the DSLR on it up or down.

But if you're working not with a flat surface but with two big stones, one bigger and with a pointier surface than the other, then what you would do is attach onto the Atlas its included additional all-terrain legs, which resemble the legs of a spider and can accordingly spread wide or stand erect, either way almost gripping the surface they're on. The legs are designed, at the play of a few knobs and fasteners, to level off and compensate for any unevenness below them.

You can mount an optional tripod underneath and use the Atlas 10 elevated, even as a crane. With a part of one end mounted on the tripod, and the other end holding a DSLR, the Atlas 10 becomes a crane that can swing the camera up or down, or left or right in a circular motion. If, for example, you're set up as such at the edge of a roof overlooking a busy street, you can have the camera pointing down and then swing sideways for panoramic shots of the action on the street.

Another feature of the Atlas 10 is an optional one, but a gigantic one. A vertical pulley system! The Atlas stands vertically erect, a DSLR on one side of it -- not on one end but on one side, an added weight package on the other side, and the two connected by a durable, rope-like counter-balance pulley system. Push down the weight, and the camera smoothly slides up; push it up, the camera slides down. Your own little mini-studio!

Atlas 10 is compatible with most 3/8"-16 heads.

A sophisticated 35" mini-dolly along with all-terrain legs. Handles DSLR rigs of up to 40 lb.
Slides very smoothly in any possible direction, including vertical and panoramic.

The Atlas can also be stood up erect and the DSLR vertically moved on it.
If you're working with a surface that's not flat, the Atlas 10's included all-terrain legs can adjust to stand firm on all surfaces and to then level off and compensate for any unevenness.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 35" Atlas 10 LTS DSLR Slider W/ All-Terrain Legs:

The build quality is excellent. My only minor gripe is the slide is not as smooth as it could be. The versatility and, again, build quality is terrific.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 35" Atlas 10 LTS DSLR Slider W/ All-Terrain Legs:

This is a well built piece of equipment. However there are a number of design flaws that definitely limit 'my' performance. 1). It weighs 10 pounds. It might not seem like a lot, but I'm a run-gun style videographer. My day could consist of hiking, biking, snowboarding or general travel. In conjunction with my other tools (camera, tripod, lenses), this piece of equipment adds an extra 30 pounds. 2). The design (width) of the tripod-head mounting plate (sliding mechanism) limits the use of the tightening dials on my tripod head, which can prevent me from achieving a fully tightened head. In summary, I think this product is far from its price point and would urge any professional videographer to re-consider this purchase. As mentioned, it is well built.. but it's far from perfect.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 35" Atlas 10 LTS DSLR Slider W/ All-Terrain Legs:

I looked at about 7 different sliders before I purchased this one. So far, I think I made the right choice. I use the Cinevate slider for commercial videos and short films. It really has allowed me to add that little extra something to my work. It is very well constructed and will probably last me a lifetime. My only complaint about it is the all terrain legs seem to be an older design, I was expecting the newer type legs show in the videos on the Cinevate site. The older style legs work great, but just aren't as quick to adjust. Now I just have to keep my self from going overboard with slider shots.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 35" Atlas 10 LTS DSLR Slider W/ All-Terrain Legs:

I use this with my DSLR and it works great. I'm still amazed at how many different ways I can utilize it on a shoot. It's lite enough to take anyway and the center tripod mount is essential.

The only reason I give less than a 5 stars is it took 2 months to get this slider. No one could give me an answer why so beware. It may take a bit to get to in your hands, and the wait is worth it.
