Comments about Midland HH54VP2 Portable Emergency Weather Alert Radio:
We bought this with the idea we needed to update our alert radio and we were doing some significant travel this year. The radio came quickly, packaged well, and was just what we ordered. It set up without any overly complicated directions or problems. I love the idea that when home it retrieves the local weather service report but when we hit the road it has a feature to grab the closest no matter where we are. It's useable in car or home. Just an all around great product so far. It would probably get 5 stars but we haven't had it long enough to go there by rating the reliability, durability of it. Also brings in local conditions and forecast. Audio a little scratchy but still plenty clear enough to understand.

Comments about Midland HH54VP2 Portable Emergency Weather Alert Radio:
Purchased 2 of the Midland HH54VP2 because my old weather radio finally quit and my mother needed one. I loved how easy it was to setup, especially the S.A.M.E functioin. I was able to set the radio for only my county. It sure paid for it's self after the tornado outbreak we just went though. Reception is great, would definitely purchase again.

Comments about Midland HH54VP2 Portable Emergency Weather Alert Radio:
We have a tabletop Midland, but this portable is perfect for moving from room to room in the house when severe weather is forecast.
Unlike other Midland NOAA alert radios, you cannot selectively ignore less relevant watches and advisories and leave active only the midwest biggies; tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings.
About the loud beep when you press buttons; it's not THAT loud, and if you're using a weather-alert radio when others are sleeping sans alarm clock, then everyone needs to hear it anyway.

Would have rated it five stars, but could not bypass unwanted events. Otherwise, a great product! I would strongly recommend this product if asked. As always, B&H came through again; excellent company to work with!
