I am testing this camera out in the role of a security camera. So far the camera has performed as advertised both in daylight and in infrared night mode.Time, temperature and moon phase are displayed. The camera seems to be very sensitive in the Normal to High mode which can produce false readings more easily if trees and bushes are in the frame.
I wish this model had the 1 second trigger response like other models. The 2 second trigger does not allow for capturing fast moving vehicles or individuals across the path of the camera (recall this is being tested as a security camera). The images are sharp but fairly grainy (digital noise) due to the high fixed ISO of 800. The fixed aperture of f/3.6 produces adequate sharpness but not at close distances of less than 10 feet. Infrared images can also be washed out when the subject is close to the camera. I am still having trouble turning the camera on and closing the snaps before the 10 second "start" delay ends. A longer delay would help. Not a big problem as you just delete those early frames. Menu buttons are not as easy to use as I expected. Lots of scrolling through menues to set camera up. Buttons are hard to see in lowlight. The tripod screw hole in the base is handy. Takes up to 12 batteries. I am testing it with a full set of regular alkaline AA batteries but it will run on only 4. Scouting Assistant software that comes with the camera (free download link) makes it easy to scan through lots of frames. Image is clear enough to use indoors as a security camera as well. You cannot see the Infrared LED when they are illuminating a scene. A lower priced unit may work as well but this one also has a color screen for previewing files in the field that lower cost units may not have.

Purchased two of these from B&H. Daytime video is good and field scan feature is great for monitoring large area to see deer movement.
Camera function is no better than three year old Bushnell (previous model) I have. Even though the package says 8MP if you look at the actual camera specifications it's a 5MP sensor. My side by side testing of the two units show no difference in still camera resolution. Trying to enlarge photos for greater detail in the field scan mode is just frustrating.
Blackout LED works as advertised for not scaring game but camera placement is critical between the "blown out" look of too close and "not quite enough illumination. Five to twenty feet is about optimum for nightime use. Would recommend for someone looking for daytime video and field scan features for general game movement.

I have tried alot of the other manufacturer's cameras and I keep coming back to my reliable Trophy Cam, it is the most reliable, best working, finest picture/video taking camera I own. Spend the few extra dollars and get this camera, it offers everything you need, the color LCD screen is great for reviewing videos right in the field! BH Photo has it the cheapest also!

In my opinion... video high definition, in the night the quality it's a bit low (not too bad), but during the day it's perfect. I recommend it. The best, 0 problems, maybe it's a bit big, but you can put it a lock.

Trophy Cams has come a long way. This animal shoots full HD movies (1080p) and takes images of 8MP. Please refer to specs list for a whole list of settings, features, specifications etc.
In my experience this little camera can not compete with a decent Digital camera. But then again it was never created and designed to do so and is also not in the same price class!!
For a trail camera to mount and to leave in the busses to take photos it really does well. I was hoping for a bit further flash range but really not bad and is way better than my previous trail camera I bought about 4 years ago.
Conclusion:
Amazing cam, do yourself a favor and get decent batteries and just buy one if you are thing about it. Is definitely worth it.

I am very satisfied with the product, showing it to my friend,he was so impressed that he is in the process of placing an order for the same model. The service from B & H Photo Video was second to none. I have no hesitation in dealing with them again, and reccomend them to anyone

I use this cam now for 2 weeks. The quality of the pictures is good. It seems that these black LED's work good. You never see a fox looking into the camera. This happend often with a camera using the red LED's. Also the sensor works good-

I have used the Trophy Cam daily for about three weeks. The camera is easy to program and has very nice feature including HD Video. I have not been impressed with the audio portion of video recording. I actually returned the first camera I purchased because I thought the audio was faulty but the replacement camera is the same. The only audio recorded is withing a foot or so of the camera. I doubt that most people will care about audio but it is a disappointment since it should work. The 8 megapixel images are also disappointing since they are no better than my 3 megapixel trail camera.

I bought this camera to track wildlife for filming. The camera was super easy to set up from the intuitive menu, although lining things up requires some trial & error before getting it right as there is no way to monitor the picture with the camera closed. I have only had it a couple of weeks now, & had it set up in the field for a week of that time. From that week, i have seen lots of shots with nothing in them, (probably due to movement caused by wind & probably remedied by adjusting the sensitivity). There were plenty of other shots where the camera was definitely tripped by an animal, since you can here it walking around but can't see it in the shot. This may be due to the sensor picking up something outside of the field of view of the camera's lens??
I have only been using the camera in video mode with sound. The sound quality is actually better than i would have thought. Video quality is acceptable for a camera of this type, however there is a lot of compression artifacting that when viewed on a HD tv is quite noticeable.
This is the first camera of this type that i have owned, but definitely not the last.
