This product was a gift from my wife as our anniversary present, and she really did her research on the price per value and got the best for her purchase.
I use this camera to track our travel paths where we have animals coming in and off of our hunting property. We hunt deer and turkeys off of this property, and also do quite a bit of trapping in this area.
It takes wonderful pictures, daytime and at night, also, I really enjoy how it has the date and time stamp on the pictures.
It is easy to set up and I am not technically inclined when it comes to all of these computer things. All I have to do to view my pictures is to plug it in to the computer and the pictures come up on the screen.
So far this year, I have caught multiple large antlered deer that will be good for this year's harvest or even next year. And the most exciting part would be that I have caught a BOBCAT on the camera as well!

We bought over 300 of these for field work in Africa. Over 20% of them were not working properly. Mostly dead display, also Off switch not working (keeps shotting when batteries are in but can't turn it off). Or doesn't switch into ON mode. All cams were replaced, but we had to incur the cost of transporting all the cam to the field, then back to europe. And the cost of being on the field with costly, non-functionning equipment. Video quality is very poor. Photo is ok. Night vision hardly usable.

Comments about Bushnell 8MP Trophy Cam Bone Collector Edition Trail Camera (Camouflage):
The unit worked right out of the box. First night of duty yielded no useful pictures as I was learning how to optimize the settings. Second night out, the camera captured the raccoons that had been raiding the bird feeders. We were surprised to see them crawling up, over and on to the squirrel guard & see five of them all at the same time. In the day time, it was used as a time lapse camera for a shed raising project. My singular concern is the lack of a view finder for pointing the camera.

Surveillance of the yard when we're away from home, but mostly I'll use it to get pictures of deer and fox around the cabin.
Picture quality is satisfying and the motion detector reacts to people moving at 30 yards away. The build quality is supreme, feels like it could take a ten feet fall easily.

Comments about Bushnell 8MP Trophy Cam Bone Collector Edition Trail Camera (Camouflage):
First off, the camera is a 5 mp interpolated to 8mp. It is not true 8mp! False advertising on the part of Bushnell.
First time I used it, it quit taking pics after 5 days. Set camera back up and again it quit taking pics after 5 days even though there was room on the card and the batteries were still good.Camera also did not return to daylight color photos until 2-3 hours after daylight. Sent the camera back.

Great camera for the price. Enough settings to customize for a novice (how often do you want to take a picture, size, etc.) but not too many to confuse.
After browsing the instructions for 5 minutes, I was ready to go. I may not know everything the cam has, but enough to get some GREAT pix.
Seriously thinking about getting a second for another area in our yard. Great resolution and VERY clear pictures. No negatives....yet!
I only use for fun, I am not a hunter. But I am getting some AMAZING 10 point bucks at my feeder!!!

Comments about Bushnell 8MP Trophy Cam Bone Collector Edition Trail Camera (Camouflage):
So far great camera. Good pictures in even light. I had to use photoshop fill flash to see critters in the shade. IR Flash was too strong for my foot shots so I covered up half of the little IR Emitters and then great pictures at five feet. Some late night pictures got all blurry due to dew on the the lens. Battery life okay so far. I like the camera.

I purchased 3 of these cameras for wildlife research. Problems include slow shutter speed at night for photos, blurry even when animal is not moving. Infrared is NOT invisible. Gives a very noticeable glow when filming, which animals and humans do see.

When I was told to a find about this camera I was very excited about it. I got it in about a week ago and it is already dead. New batteries are in and won't power on. Comments about Bushnell 8MP Trophy Cam Bone Collector Edition Trail Camera (Camouflage):
Good daytime photos. Poor night IR stills. The shutter speed is slow and motion blurring occurs in the night shoots. Video at night is much better. Image quality at 8 mega pixels is acceptable. Haven't tried 5 mp yet. Easy to setup and the small size is a plus. Battery life using lithium batteries is good. Overall, it is a good choice and I'll buy some more. The supplied strap is functional for small trees. But a ratchet strap works much better.
