The Equinox Gen 1 Night Vision 2x28 Monocular from Bushnell gets you up close and personal with the great outdoors. Every Bushnell optic is the direct result of extensive research and design.

Investigating what goes 'bump-in-the-night' with Bushnell's Equinox Gen 1 2x28 night vision monocular can be quite exhilarating. This lightweight waterproof NVD provides the power of sight without light in a small ergonomic form factor.

With its sleek yet rugged looks, 2x magnification, 28 mm objective lens, built in IR illuminator and durable rubber housing, the Equinox Night Vision monocular is an excellent choice for camping, caving, wildlife observation, surveillance or any time and place you think you're ready to experience the secrets of the dark first hand.

There are many different variables that affect the distance that one can see with a night vision device, among them the object's size, the level of details being sought from the object and the conditions of observation. Night vision devices detect much further under a full moon and clear skies than they will under a new moon and cloudy skies. Many different formulas are used to determine the statistic of maximum viewing range and the method of calculation varies by manufacturer.

All night vision devices sold by B&H have mechanisms in place to protect the intensifier tube from a sudden burst of bright light, but this does not mean that bright light doesn't damage the device. No matter what, bright light in any form is not good for the longevity and performance of image intensifier tubes.

Generation 1 intensifier uses the traditional green view night vision when ambient light is available and white night vision when it is pitch black out

Comments about Bushnell Equinox Gen 1 Night Vision 2x28 Monocular:

I collect generation 1 night vision devices, and was sad to see such poor performance from Bushnell. While no-one should expect $3000 results from a gen 1 instrument, no one should settle for "soft" clarity. It was like looking through a bright green lolipop. The unit seems sturdy and is ergonomically great, however in my opinion if you cannot identify sharply and quickly in the field, the unit serves little purpose.
