Very simple right out of the box. Plug it into your camera, and then plug the headphones you'll be using on the other end. 60D camera instantly understands that it's plugged in, and you can monitor audio while your in movie mode (while recording or not). Playback of videos sends audio right through your headphones as well. Love it!
It says that this is for the 550D, but I figured the 60D is close enough to the 550D (firmware etc), so I jumped the gun and went for it. Turns out it works perfectly. Couldn't be more happy. Timely delivery also.

Comments about Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF A/V Out Headphone Monitoring Cable:
Cable excellent. I was in a while looking for a cable that could connect headphones to monitor audio to my Canon 60D when taped videos. Along with the Magic Lantern program, this cable solved my problem. Simply plug it into the USB port and the camera automatically detects the headset. I recommend it 100%

I use this with my T2i/550D and Magic Lantern. This product helps give me the confidence that I recorded clean audio and looks much cleaner than the DIY versions out there. Now I just need to get the one made for the 5D Mark II.

Plugged right into the 60D and was working immediately with Magic Lantern. Amazing product and it is so nice to be able to monitor audio directly now rather than just guessing at it. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have headphone monitoring on their DSLR.

Easy to use , MUST HAVE MAGIC LATERN, just plug it in , go to settings and put headphones. That's it ! Your done. I know you can make your own but this is worth the price. I made my own and eeeeeewwww , that's why I bought this one.

Comments about Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF A/V Out Headphone Monitoring Cable:
I shoot a lot of interviews on a Canon 60D and T4i with Magic Lantern installed. When I only have the need for a couple of mics and record straight to my DSLR, this is a great tool. These cameras do not have a headphone jack so this is perfect for monitoring my audio. I would have given this 5 stars but I think the price is a little exspensive.

Comments about Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF A/V Out Headphone Monitoring Cable:
Finally got this from B&H and tried to plug in my headphone only to see that it doesn't fit well. The headphones have the normal 3.5mm jack.It fits in extremely loosely and doesn't hold snugly. To top it off the sound only comes in through to one ear. If you hold the jack with your hand just barely plugged in, you can get sound to both ears. Displeased. Will return!

Comments about Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF A/V Out Headphone Monitoring Cable:
Using ML and my Canon 60D I can now monitor my onboard audio while shooting video. Sescom has been good to me, and I use another cable depending on situation that allows me to use an external audio recorder then "line in" to the 60D with a split to monitor sounds. The DSLR 550D - HOCF cable is my nice fit for when I simply add my Rode 2 mic onboard the shoe of the 60D!!!! Truly happiness found in a cable.

Comments about Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF A/V Out Headphone Monitoring Cable:
I should've got this cable sooner. It works beautifully fine with my Canon 60D. I've done few shoots with it where I had a reporter with a hand held mic and I could easily monitor the audio and make sure it was at a decent/ acceptable level.
Keep in mind that you do need the Magic Lantern in order to have this setup

Comments about Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF A/V Out Headphone Monitoring Cable:
I purchased this cable to use with my Canon 60D and 5D Mark II cameras (in conjunction with Magic Lantern). The cable is well constructed so I expect it to hold up during "run and gun" shooting. It works as advertised although be advised that you will still likely need a FiiO EO5 mini headphone amplifier to achieve enough headphone volume (unless you have really loud low impedance headphones). I would have given the cable 5 stars were it not for the price although I understand that Sescom has to modify a Canon cable to make this one as other cables will NOT work.

Comments about Sescom DSLR-550D-HOCF A/V Out Headphone Monitoring Cable:
Works perfectly in monitoring my video audio for my Canon 60D of which I also use Magic Lantern on. I still have yet to get it to work on my T3i, but I think it just may be a software issue to iron out. Pricey, so that's the only reason why I rate it 4 starts instead of 5. Construction seems solid so it should last.

This little cable is pretty expensive, but that's how it is with speciality cables. In any case, it works as advertised and a 'must have" as far as I'm concerned. It sure beats having to connect another recorder to your camera just to monitor your audio.

Although this is pricey, it will save you having to reshoot because of bad audio.
