I have 3 of these. I will keep it short..

Dual Band is great, you can setup G and or N bands so there is no more packet confusion happening on BGN or GN routers.. You also reap the benefits of max throughput on N better compared than other routers due to the DDWRT firmware that comes STANDARD in this little beast.

Also it is under $125!!!!! which is very cheap to me for what this guy does.

In terms of distance, i was last week with this router at GIANTS STADIUM (aka new meadowland stadium) in NJ, i set it up on one end of the field and used a remote desktop application from my ipad to access a server accross the field.
WOW.. There were also obstructions and a lot of WIFI channels in use as well so very proud of this little guy.

I bought this unit to use AOSS feature with Playstation 3 while having other PCs and mobile devices on the same network. Couldn't find reviews on this vs. the top-of-the-line Cisco Linksys or Asus dual band routers, but its features are similar. I set up the 5GHz ban with dual-band Cisco Linksys USB adapters, but was not impressed with the signal from one end of my house to the other. My speeds were only <10 Mbps vs. 54 on the 2.4GHz signal. Verdict: don't set up dual band if the signal must go through walls; use in an open area like an office. Overall good features and easy setup with a decent price.

Comments about Buffalo AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N Dual Band High Power Router and Access Point:

I have an apartment in a high rise that could not be covered with a standard wireless router. Don't know why, but suspect it was interference from so many others in the building, or the metalic kitchen appliances between the two ends of the apartment. This router solved the problem. I must say, though, that the set-up of the device wasn't easy. Instructions weren't clear and the step-by-step process it walks you through doesn't explain what options do what. It may require professional set-up, or at least someone with a little networking knowledge.

I use this router to support a VPN on the router. The firmware dd-wrt is required to run OpenVPN on the router. I should point out that the version of DD-WRT on the router requires a flash upgrade. Once the upgrade is done, the OpenVPN sw can be configured.

Got this to add 802.11n and replace some flaky (constantly needing power-cycled) 802.11g access points. It's been up for 57 days and untold traffic without a hitch. Using as access point only, have other things doing the routing. Was looking for wireless N and 1000-T wired functionality (kinda silly to have high speed wireless attached to 100-T wires...)

Works fine with both Macs and PCs and probably linux boxes as well.

I decided on this router after considering many more expensive models. My goal was to set up a VPN between my MacBook Air and my home network so my precious documents would be secure while working on public wifi networks. I couldn't be happier with the result. The "pro" version of the software is a bit to digest for even the advanced user, but I got through it. Beyond that, my home network is now really really fast.

I am using this with an identical router. I am using this one as a repeater/access point for the extended distance to stream 3D movies.
The bands do not stay constant, they are constantly dropping with no reason. I have spent 14 hours on the phone with tech support. I spent another 9 hours (holiday) chaning configs and trying to tweek it. Nothing works.

Being used as a router it works well, the speeds are good and the distance ok.

I use the router for personal use in my dorm. I share it with multiple people, several rooms away and the signal strength is still great. I also really enjoy the simultaneous dual band wifi: I use one that I lock on my computer (5GHz) and the other one that I share (2.4GHz)...
The options page is really extensive...

This is a great router. I am an IT professional but for someone who is not, I believe this would still offer them a simple setup and configuration. A huge bonus is that it has security enabled out of the box to help those who are unaware of the necessity. Great response and coverage area.

I've used DD-WRT on recycled routers & access points many times commercially and wanted to try out the hardware DD-WRT chose to advertise on it's own site. This is a great piece of hardware for home networking, gaming, streaming media, etc.

From our apartment in Manhattan, there are over 100 2.4GHz access points so getting a good G/N signal is very difficult. Using this router, I established a Wireless G+N network on the 2.4GHz frequency for my iPhone/Samsung Galaxy/Blackberry and a second Wireless N network on the 5GHz frequency (where there were only 3 other networks). Using channel bonding, I can get a stable 300Mbps connection in most of my apartment.

One note, the router comes loaded out of the box with the "Advanced" DD-WRT firmware. If you want to use the "basic" firmware, you have to flash the router which seems a bit counter intuitive for novice users. I was fine with this, as I wanted the custom firmware.

I owned a prvious version of this product, and it was pretty good, except that my Thinkpad laptop did not seem to like it. I have upgraded to this version, and I have not looked back. I can stream HD video wirelessly to my two tv's, and my laptop with no problems. It comes with the DDWRT bios installed. I swapped it for the easy bios because I kept screwing things up because of all of the functionality and control you get. This router is perfect.
