I bought this Keyboard case to go with the IPad 2, which I bought for my technology-challenged husband who thinks that touch screen technology was not meant for his paws. He's a doctor, wanted to use the Ipad for his patient encounters, but was concerned about the ease of typing in notes when he needed to and didn't think he had the patience for two finger typing on the screen. The KeyFolio has been the answer to his fears and my prayers of bringing him into 2012. We needed something that "housed" and protected the IPad, without having too many parts (he looses everything that can't fit into his white coat). I couldn't get him the stand alone wireless keyboard that Apple makes, he'd already be frustrated with having to tote around 2 seperate units. The KeyFolio is rich in appearence, nice leather finish. The keyboard is soft, extra protection for the screen and when closed, looks like a leather bound day planner. Keyboard is surprisingly simple to type on. I found the complaints I had read about in other reviews of there being only one shift key inconsequential. Most importantly, husband is actually using the IPad in large part to this KeyFolio (not for all of Ipad's amazing apps) It's turned our Ipad into a second laptop, pretty cool. I also love that because the keyboard is soft, you can tilt the Ipad at multiple degrees and the keyboard will hold it (not to worry, you can turn the keyboard on/off with a convenient switch at the side. And when you turn the keyboard back on, still "paired" with Ipad's bluetooth). Also, keyboard has an amazing charge life. I usually charge maybe twice a month, but we're still not using it as much as our other laptop/desktop keyboard to give you perspective. Last and certainly not least, SPILL PROOF KEYS! The Ipad doubles as our nanny "Manzana", and she's endured a couple of water sprays and sticky fingers...cleans up effortlessly :)Bought one for my Dad when he saw how easy it made using the Ipad and he says he uses his much more often now.

Overall I am happy with this product, but there are certainly some features lacking. I would prefer to see something that would secure the closure, even as simple as an attached elastic or something similar. I also read that another user had commented about the keyboard only having 1 shift key on the left. I also miss having the right shift key, but I suppose it's a matter of getting used to. Additionally, and in my opinion, most importantly, I would like to see the bottom portion of the case that rests just above the keyboard to secure into place, rather than simply lean on case. The reason for this is for those times where use on top of a unstable surface (like your lap) or true mobile use (like riding in a bumpy car, train etc) can cause the screen to fall. A more secure "snap-in place" type mount integrated on the case would prevent this from happening. With all of that said, this is a good product, but has room for improvement. I am looking forward to seeing the next revision of this product.

Comments about Kensington KeyFolio Bluetooth Keyboard Case for iPad, iPad 2 & new iPad:
I have an inexpensive keyboard that makes clicking noises while I type and that is rather awkward to get out of its case and set up, so I decided to upgrade to this quiet keyboard in a convenient case. Unfortunately, I found that there was only one shift key (on the left side) and that the keys on the right side had been completely re-arranged. I type on a normal keyboard all day long, so this was a real problem. My hands just could not learn the new arrangement. Also, the Bluetooth connection with the iPad did not happen very easily. Every time I wanted to work on the keyboard I had to wait and wait. Finally, the niche in which the screen rested was unstable and the screen kept jiggling. So I returned it to the store and I now appreciate my cheap little keyboard much more!

Comments about Kensington KeyFolio Bluetooth Keyboard Case for iPad, iPad 2 & new iPad:
I bought the product supposing it would support the three other character sets I use: Spanish, Portuguese and French, since it comes with a manual in those languages. Nope: it is not capable of putting accents in letters. After a cumbersome dialog with Kensington technical support -who suggested to ask Apple to solve the problem!, they acknowledged they have special versions for each language and the one I bought supports only English. What was a surprise to me, since it would not be a great difficulty to have other language options in the firmware.

I read all the positive reviews here before buying this unit. In short, I did not like it. Really felt cheap. Keyboard was like mush. Sent it back for a refund.

no complaints - works great...both keyboard & protection factor have proven well worth the purchase. just remember to turn the keyboard off when not in use, or the bluetooth will drain your ipad's battery.

I bought my Ipad 3 from B & H. While I was on my way to New York from Vegas, I watched the guy in front of me using this type of keypad. Was amused and thought should also consider buying one.
On enquiring, the salesman in B & H suggested me to go for this one. I remember telling him I am relying on your advice and buying and I can assure you the reliance was not misplaced.
Thank You! B & H

I have an iPad and this is the added luxury I end up NEEDING! Since I blog the keyboard and case are perfect. I would add that the Keyfolio could add an elastic band to keep it closed and it would be a perfect ten.
Thanks!

This case/keyboard has a sleek look and feel but unfortunately it doesn't perform as well as other products like it. I don't know why but certain keys stick more than others. On occassion a key will get stuck and will just keep repeating and repeating.
