Sanyo's XX Powered by Eneloop 'AA' Batteries (2500mAh) are pre-charged batteries that provide up to 500 cycles of high capacity power. These 4 batteries can be used to power any device that you would use normal 'AA' batteries in; however, the advantage of the XX Batteries is the incredible life-cycle of each battery. In addition to 2500mAh and 1.2V of output power, the XX Batteries also retain up to 75%: of their power after 1 year of no use.

After years of disappointment with rechargeable NiCd batteries, I switched to Sanyo AA 2000mAh batteries a few months ago. They were a tremendous improvement and restored my faith in the viability of using rechargeable batteries and their advantages of lower cost and reducing the huge number of one-time use batteries going to landfills. Looking for even more powerful batteries that would hold their charge for an extended period without excessive loss of energy, I perused the B&H website and came across the Sanyo XX 2500 mAh AA batteries with Eneloop technology and a number of enthusiastic buyer comments. Having now used these newer batteries in my photo flash units and LED flashlights for about ten full recharge cycles, I've found that they have significantly greater runtimes than my 2000mAh batteries. They weigh a bit more (about half an ounce) and are not rated for the same number of rechargings compared to the original Eneloops (500 vs. 1,500). However, if you are using devices that are a heavy drain on batteries, such as flash units, the Sanyo XX Eneloops are definitely worth the extra cost compared to the 2000mAh units and are still much lower in cost than one-use alkaline or lithium batteries in the long run. Highly recommended.

I bought two packs of these expensive batteries. They did seem to work well in my SB 600 Speedlight, recharging quickly and putting out good power. However, after the very first use, I noticed that one of the batteries had ruptured, leaking battery juice aroung the positive terminal. They were used in the ordinary way, without any abuse. I've never had that happen to any of the countless other brands that I have used. I can only hope that this was a fluke and that B+H will exchange them for me.

Ordered 4 sets of these batteries for my Vivitar 285-HV and Nikon SB-600 flashes. Average full power recycle time is around 7 seconds on my Vivitar and 4 seconds on my SB-600.
I've used them every day for almost a week using the factory charge. Very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Sanyo XX Powered by Eneloop 'AA' Batteries (2500mAh):
I was sick of using up tons of AA batteries in my flashes and remote flash triggers. If I didn't replace every one of them every few hours, something would not work. I posted on the "Ask Brian" Facebook page, asking for suggestions. I was thinking I'd have to get a big battery thing, but he said get these Eneloop batteries. So I got enough for every item to use them with a complete set of backups. Man! I popped the first 4 into the Canon 580 speedlight and switched it on. I have never seen the redlight pop on so fast! And it stayed powered! I may learn to use flash yet!
I bought these with the charger, but I think any AA charger will work. It was suggested to get a set of black and a set of white so it would be east to tell the used from the fresh in the field.

I have replaced all my non-rechargable 'AA' batteries with these. They last longer and work fine in all my battery powered devices. I use them in my GPS, bike light, walkie-talkies, Trophy camera, and portable stereo. They work great. They say they are charged and ready to use when you get them, but experience shows that you should charge them first.

They work great, will have to wait and see how long they hold a full charge before I make a final judgement... oh and the recharge time with the standard Sanyo wall charger is painfully slow, tkaes like 7+ hours to get full charge so plan ahead unless you have a quick charger.

Comments about Sanyo XX Powered by Eneloop 'AA' Batteries (2500mAh):
I've been a huge fan of Eneloop batteries since they came out many years ago. They don't loose their charge like NICAD or NIMHD batteries do, in fact, they will hold most of their charge for ten years!
With these new 2500 mha XX on the market, there is absolutely no reason to buy alkaline batteries ever again, Ever.
I use them in my Canon flashes and pocket wizards, flashlights, etc.
Just be sure you slow charge them. Fast charging batteries will heat them up and shorten their life span. Get a Sanyo Eneloop charger. These batteries can be charged up to 500 times if you take good care of them.

After several years of using AA nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries that were a great value for the money but lost a significant amount of their charge after a couple of days, and after years of worrying about if my flash battery level indicator was going to flash the dreaded "no juice left" icon while the bride was being escorted down the aisle, I decided to dispose of them and get these. I have shot two limited-coverage weddings so far without having to change batteries and am delighted. Any piece of equipment that makes life easier for me while on the job is worth the money.

The XX Eneloops work wonderfully. I'll never need to return to non-rechargable batteries. Charge lasts through several shoots in a Canon 600EX-RT flash unit.

I've graduated up from the previous version of the Eneloop AA rechargeables and they are fantastic. Not only do they come charged, but they recharge quickly and don't lack any performance when in any of my devices. I feel great not to have to throw away batteries at special disposal sites anymore. These will power my camera flash and will be a part of many good pictures to come.

Comments about Sanyo XX Powered by Eneloop 'AA' Batteries (2500mAh):
I use these more powerful Eneloops specifically for my for my NIkon SD-9 Battery Pack (usually get the 2000mAh). I'm a little put off by the 500 cycles as opposed to the 2000mAh's 1500 cycles not to mention the difference in price. Regardless, I've noted improved recycle times, the ability to shoot longer, etc. Worth it if you just want to shoot without worry.

I know these Eneloops are pricey but you'll forget about that in a day or two while enjoying the guiltless use of some of the very best of AA batteries on the market. All other brands cost less I've done my homework, and to my knowledge none work or last longer than these !
