The pads are velocity sensitive. The X-Y pad can be used to control multiple synthesizer parameters while a "Touch Scale" function allows for playing phrases on the touchpad. The controller is USB bus powered and with the appropriate connector kit (not included) the unit is compatible with Apple's iPad.

Downloadable software allows for custom configuring the pad responses, and licenses are provided for 3 virtual instruments to facilitate immediate music creation.

Comments about Korg nanoPAD2 - Slim-Line USB MIDI Controller (Black):

I bought this mainly for the XY pad, but was disappointed as there doesn't seem to be anyway to reset the MIDI CC controller assignment, it is 1 and 2 but I need 1 and 11. I am now using it as a drum and percussion input device which is what it's main purpose was intended for. I ended up setting up the Liine Lemur app on my iPad instead to use as a MIDI controller.

Comments about Korg nanoPAD2 - Slim-Line USB MIDI Controller (Black):

I got this to use with Ableton Live. The pads are good considering the price, I love the XY pad though my unit had a dead zone. I RMA'd the unit back to bhp and am waiting on a new unit. That is not Korg or bhp's bad IMO since defects exist in any batch. bhp were very quick in getting me the info to send it back, no problems and no hassles.

Comments about Korg nanoPAD2 - Slim-Line USB MIDI Controller (Black):

I'm using this controller in tandem with the NanoKontrol (which has faders), to MIDI map all functions for Ableton Live.
It offers plenty of programmable pads and 4 different scenes.
The only drawback is its durability on the road (touring) over time...

Comments about Korg nanoPAD2 - Slim-Line USB MIDI Controller (Black):

I bought the nanoPad for use with my Nord Electro keyboard, since the product can emit Program Change messages. It turns out to be non-functional in this context. Both the keyboard and the pads apparently function in the role of USB slave and therefore won't talk to each other, the nanoPad will only work when plugged into a computer. This is ridiculous, in my opinion. It looks like a great product, too bad it didn't work at all for me.
